Good transfer for Chelsea. Looks like we are going for Forlan for a huge fee as our main transfer this summer and be the loser on the transfer market while other clubs buy young and smart.

Loos said...

Zhirkov is quite good!
I'm sure that if Barcelona were to get him, the cost would have been no less than 30 million euros!
We're not doing good in the transfer market!

bye bye to another transfer target. good thing we have a lot of targets :P atleast now we'll go for Mata or Silva full stretch!

skanjos: don't get your hopes up. According to several people, Mata is too young, we need someone close to 30 years old so Gai, Bojan and Pedro can take over. Forlan and Benayoun fits the profile.

Loos said...

Most probably Benayoun will renew at Liverpool!
As for Forlan, although he is a great player, he's very expensive for 36M.
I would go for Silva for LW, leave Eto'o and get Kierrison as CF backup, together with Bojan.
Then focus on the DM, CB, and LB positions!

Anonymous up there was obviously sarcastic :)

Well all I can say for all you who are talking about Barcelona transfer policy are bad or we are not signing anyone yet, this is what I have say to you guys Barcelona knows what they want and which players they are going for, with forlan and this other rubbish players being linked with Barcelona it is just to use the media to put pressure on the teams and players who Barcelona target it, watch and you will see Villa come and Mata or maybe Silva, or even Ribery , because Ribery did not say he only wants to join Real Madrid. All ma Barcelona fellow fans relax and let the board do there job

To the person that said

"skanjos: don't get your hopes up. According to several people, Mata is too young, we need someone close to 30 years old so Gai, Bojan and Pedro can take over. Forlan and Benayoun fits the profile."

You are an ignoramus and a coward sir. If you are too stupid to understand something then you should not comment on it. And to post without putting a name just shows what a coward you are.

What we are saying is that the same thing we did with Giuly we should do now. Instead of buying Cristiano Ronaldo aged 20 we bought Giuly aged 28. If we had bought Ronaldo you think we would have had Messi now? Or do you think he would have seen that we had other plans and gone elsewhere to play.

But by all means lets buy mata and let gai and bojan go and then pay 46 million euros to buy them back like we now want to do with Cesc. Because that is who we are correct? Rush from year to year buying whichever player has a good 6 months correct? Lets buy Ibisevic and Dzejo and every other player that is hot right now and ignore our young talent

Abdi, you are not "insiderknowledge" are you? I really hope it is you.

skanjos said...

abdikarim you seem to forget the TIME issue here,it has already been 1,5month of nothing, and we are almost mid july and at the end of july we will start our preseason, other years we already had complete our transfers till the start of preseason and thats the way you should do the transfers.the board said we will sign 5-6 players, till the end of july i dont see us signing those players.

i hope the board puts the foot down on accelaration cause we are staying behind our own scedule ,it has nothing to do with other teams transfers.

, at 19.00 when he makes known his intentions, Vicente Soriano announced, probably, that Villa is not transferable. You might also say, though, in other words, it will not change my opinion a bid "grossly shocking". But both the president and his agent as Villa Tamargo know that the door is more open than

From the latest article of el Mundo Deportivo.

So i guess the bid failed again :(

You know what i cant understand. You have seen what has come out of the barcelona youth academy. You have seen messi xavi iniesta puyol pique busquets cesc reina valdes all from this era and yet still you doubt. All of europe is after our talent but all we want to do is buy other people's talent. Why wont you just have faith.

Sport has an article discussing the fact that it is now 15 days to the start of the pre-season and the squad is smaller than it was last season with sylvinho leaving despite guardiola calling for reinforcements. Exactly what i have been saying for a while now
Txiki needs to to WAKE THE FUCK UP and get some damned signings.

Unknown said...

@skanjos, when the boad said we will buy 5-6 players it was to put pressure on the players that had to renewal their contracts, that is one of the reason believe or not Barcelona will sign before the preseason starts, players they need left back will come next week you shall see new signings, and believe the story between pep and the board problem that is rubbish it is MARCA shit

skanjos said...

nope m8 we need a bigger squad this year the 5-6 transfers werent to put pressure for contract....thats the most sad excuse i have heard.we have 15 days till preseason offcourse we will sign a player but we should have 15 days earlier.....

on the pep/board story.you cant argue that txiki is the main guy pulling the strings in the transfer department.and guardiola specificaly asked for more squad members cause its a tough year coming, the board hasnt completed a single transfer in 1,5month and only signed 1 players new contract till now(yaya).if i was barca coach i would be furius with the board.its like they went 1 month vacation.also we have made only 1 official bid to villa 2 days ago ,and one small official bid for filipe. the keirrison transfer is almost finished but still the player most probably wont be here next season....

Loos said...

We should have at least signed a LB by now!
Everybody agrees we need one! This has nothing to do with youth talents, and nothing with pressuring players' renewals!

NouBarca said...

reminds me of Arshavin. BIG LOSS

Its been 40 days since we won the Champions league and no signings yet. Every other major team in europe Chelsea Man Utd Arsenal Liverpool Bayern Real Madrid Inter Juventus and AC Milan have signed players. Something is seriously wrong with this picture

Barca4ever (a cry from my heart to Joan Laporta)

Fellow cule’s – Over the past few weeks I have tried to stay calm and tried very hard to believe that our President and his Directors are doing what is best for Barca. Surly I say to myself –in the year of presidential elections they more than ever, would want to go into the elections on the back of yet another outstanding season. It will be very difficult to emulate the season just passed, to better it, I think would require a super human effort by one and all associated with our fabulous team.

Pep handed the batten to Tixi over 4 weeks ago saying we needed to increase the number of players (and Tixi fell at the first hurdle) to give the team every opportunity to eclipse 2008 – 09.

What have they done? They have been caught with their trousers down! Blaming FRANCO Madrid for distorting the transfer market, but they buried their heads in the sand they knew that was going to happen and now they are running around like headless chickens if I was Pep (please allow me to dream who has absolutely nothing to prove) I would walk away contract or no contract.

I’m now becoming so nervous (I know they are professional players) that next season our players will be exhausted not only due to the number of games they will have to play, but also the wait of expectations on the shoulders will be enormous. Every team we play will want to knock us off our perch in anyway they can! History proves we will not be able to rely on the referees to protect our players.

Pep was outstanding in managing the team and the rotations (we were also very fortunate that we had no serious injuries) to achieve the treble, but through no fault of their own, the team will fall short of what we all hoped would be an exceptional 2009-10. I have nightmares that we will see a repeat of 2006-7 and 2007-8 (I bloody hope not).

To say we have only €35m to spend is total bull s**t; reading the Spanish press over the past few weeks reminds me of a “second rate soap opera” it’s pathetic. If Pep says we need an additional players we need more players. What makes matters even worse we seem incapable of renewing the contracts of our existing players, that in itself does not breed confidence in the board’s ability to move our team forward.

I’m a real fan of David Villa and would love to see him wear our shirt next season and replace Eto’o. Don’t get me wrong, Eto’o has done an incredible job, but now needs to move on. The players are out there to buy and to argue over €2 / €5m is criminal when we are just two weeks away from pre-season. I’m in no position to say who we should buy because I do not have the experience and appreciate that managing and building a team is a balance and the individual pieces have to fit together like a jigsaw puzzle.

If you read this I’m sorry for going on! I was hoping it would make me feel better, but unfortunately it doesn’t. I live in hope trying to console myself by saying it is only a game of football, but it is more much much more than that

Barca, Barca.

alright guys...we know that the board isn't getting an A grade for this transfer season.
but its no use posting the same complaints on every single topic.
i understand how frustrated all of you may be because...trust...i'm VERY unhappy myself.
but let's try not to have a complaining heart.

as for the news of zhirkov...i dont think its such a big blow for us since we can't have two marauding fullbacks to leave our defense out to dry.

umessi10 said...

@Barca4ever

OMG ! That is one aweosmee article u've written there mate.
It was a good read and there is so much truth in it

skanjos said...

agree with barca4ever 100%. i bet alot others do too.

Anonymous said...

if we were to bid for zhirkov it may would be more than what chelsea offer. Zhirkov deal is probably so smooth cuz there is no competition and there is the russian connection by abramovich to smooth the transfers.

Yes, we do buy players who has a good 6 months like Caceres and Keirrison for big money, or we buy players close to 30 years old like Henry, Hleb, Keita etc. Now, our target is Forlan, another 30 year old, which is totally inferior to Eto'o and probably needs to be replaced in a year or two. Risking our whole team by signing mediocre players like Giuly or Benayoun based on Gai, Pedro or Bojan becoming superstars is madness. I don't believe our board has this in mind, I think our board simply has no strategy or plan whatsoever, that is the impression I get when we sign players like Henrique, Caceres, Hleb (who Pep hates), and are rumoured to sign two more expensive CBs this summer. The latest random act is Keirrison signing, what was the point of that signing, what does he offer that Eto'o or Henry or Bojan can't, Valencia doesn't seem to want him, so what are we going to do? Everything seems so random.

barca4life said...

This board seems more and more like calderon's board of last season desperate to sign 1 player and ignoring other positions. What makes matters worse is that just as madrid upset robinho we seemed to have upset etoo or at least given him a reason to feign outrage and a path to move out of the club.

barca4life said...

Yes anonymous if it were up to you we should have sold messi and iniesta because obviously we should not have signed giuly and van bommel. We should have gone and signed obi mikel and c ronaldo no?

Anonymous said...

Ronaldo and Messi on each side seems like a good deal to me. I don't understand your point about Obi Mikel, he would have to compete with Yaya. Or are you suggesting that Yaya shouldn't have been bought either, because he was too young and harms the development of Busquets?

Our board simply have no real strategy in the transfer policy, you tell me what the point of Keirrison signing is.

barca4life said...

Shows how much you know about football that you think ronaldo at barcelona would have been a good idea. Despite the fact that xavi just said he wanted no part of ronaldo at barca and the fact that both messi and ronaldo both play on the right flank and messi has openly stated that he does not like to play on the left flank. I see no further point in carrying on a conversation after that comment. Have a nice day.

Kevin O said...

NOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Damn... I wanted Zhirkov extremely badly.. In fact even more than Villa (yeah i kno that sounds stupid). But seriously, Yuri has got a massive amount of ability. Sad 2 see him sign for crappy Chelsea. :-(

woo sah said...

the point of the keirrison signing...anonymous...is to have a promising striker for the future.
henry isn't getting younger as is eto'o.
and as i've stated hundreds of times before...eto'o CANNOT be counted on next season.
and please don't say what about bojan because i'm sorry he's not a true 9...more like a winger.

Anonymous said...

Eto'o can not be counted on? We have not sold him yet, so why buy Keirrison already? Keirrison isn't any better than Bojan in the striker position. At least Bojan has scored many goals for us as a striker. Didn't Pep request someone that can participate in the play and hold up the ball like Zlatan? Keirrison does nothing of that at all.

woo sah said...

yea anonymous...eto'o can't be counted on. we havn't sold him yet but i'm pretty sure we're trying hard to...and in the event that we can't sell him i'm pretty sure he won't get minutes this coming season because he'd pretty much screw over the club.
as for bojan and keirrison...umm...if you do some research you can see the goals per appearance ration keirrison is more then twice as effective then bojan and you can try to use the primera being more difficult than the brazilian league but keirrison has just SO much more.
