Deal on Filipe could be closed today

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona could close the transfer deal on Deportivo La Coruña left back defender Filipe Luis (23) today.

Barcelona would have raised late last night its bid with 1 million euro to 9 million euro° and promised Deportivo president Augusto César Lendoiro that the total fee immediately will be paid cash.

The player's agent Juan Figer is quoted as saying that the negotiations will definitely be broken if this offer isn't accepted.

I hope so.
We need to start buying new players. Of course they have to be good enough to play for us, which is more than a true in this case.

Luis is a really nice defender.

Is it not cash+player-on-loan deal? If so the outcome might not be positive... Hope not

This is a pretty big domino. This transfer could be the turning point for either a successful transfer season or not. Hopefully this goes through and the Villa + Mata bid goes through.

They're only talking about the 9 million cash in the report, Anony. We'll see...

these two in the picture would not have to go through chasing each other again! except in training sessions.
Get them both!

And to those who think we are not buying, its like that elsewhere. Fergie was scouting both A-Roddick and Federer on Sunday at the Wimbledon final..lol its that bad..

NouBarca haha true but please don't remind me ever of that game again, my back still hurts me.

i think deportivo will accept ,we offered 8 the wanted 12 we offer 9 as a final offer.if they dont accept i dont think we are willing to give 10 to match the center of prices. this is our last bid take it or leave it.

just because madrid is giving alot of money it doesnt make it that all clubs are willing to do so too.9 mil stil is alot of money for a LB that isnt famous at all, isnt playing in his national team,i think in the end its a fair offer.

I disagree NouBarca. Look at Bayern. They got started early got players in every area of the field(Gomez,Tymoschuk) for good prices. If we started early before Madrid made these big moves as anticipated then all this chaos could have been avoided.

"9 million euro° and promised Deportivo president Augusto César Lendoiro that the total fee immediately will be paid cash" - how do they mean "cash"? Instead of a bank transfer we are going to give Deportivo a briefcase of Euro bank-notes?

Bad joke, sorry.
If true, we have our first signing. Wohoo!

I think we will drop this deal and go for Bruno Alves for 30m euros instead.

I'm not a huge admirer of Filipe, he's a little frail defensively.
