Barcelona not giving up on Ribery

Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo cliams that Barcelona still hopes to be able to sign Bayern Munich attacker and French international Franck Ribéry (26).

After the new statements of Ribéry denying that he had said he wanted to leave Bayern to join Real Madrid, Barcelona would think that if Bayern decides to sell Ribéry they still have a chance to sign him since Ribéry has re-opened the door for a Barcelona move and the contacts with Bayern are very good, with Barcelona president Joan Laporta holding almost daily telephone talks with Bayern Munich president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

That would be an awsome signing for Barca...
The main priority for most of the cules...

But as far as i would love this transaction i am very pesimistic about chances for making it happen...

Additionally mundo isn't as solid source of information as we all would like it to be:)

Get him as quick as possible and don't let the affair get to media and don't let it take to much time.

otherwise it Real will be there with 80 m € for him and we will be out..

I know that we maybe not can get both Villa and Ribery but it's not impossible and that would be a dream!

Then Iniesta doesn't have to move up in attack and we get a pure midfielder as Xavi.

His new statement ( @ http://www.tz-online.de/sport/fussball/fc-bayern/tz-exklusiv-ribry-nimmt-stellung-vorwuerfen-387961.html ) is obviously wrong translated.

He comments the statement "Ribéry to his reportedes statement: "I want to go. Real or nothing at all." > (Ribéry zu seiner angeblichen Aussage: „Ich will weg. Real oder gar nichts")

with

"I never said, that I want to leave by all means! That wasn´t my words, my statements have been interpreted wrong." > ("Ich habe nie gesagt, dass ich unbedingt weg will. Das waren nicht meine Worte, meine Aussagen wurden falsch interpretiert.“)

In the end he just said that it´s not true that he wants to leave Bayern under all circumstances, but he denys not that Real is were he want to be.

Yes to Riberry, but not for 70 or 80 million. After Madrid's extravagant prices have increased 70%. If we are to acquire a player and suffer for 10 years until club loans are brought back to normal then no thanks. For this kinfd of money we can bye Felipe, Fabrecas and Keirison.
If we are talking normal selling price ie 40- 45 million for Riberry then fine. Elsewere let Madrid boost their loans from 540 million to above 600 million.
Barca is still unbelievably strong. Do not forget youth players to be promoted this season.

If we cant even sign a player like Fillipe, how is laporta going to sign ribery?

I prefer Ribery over villa. Wait, wasn't there a agreement between Ribery and Barcelona?

I am loving this. I hope they dont come out and say its the £25Mil form eto that stopped them for buying. That would be funnier

how are we supposed to get ribery with 40mil bid? get real.we are not a buying club we wont give so much money for a player especially when we have young talents for the position already,it doesnt fit the clubs image.even for villa we should sign him only if eto leaves.otherwise keep eto/henry/bojan/keirrison and we are great upfront.we dont need villa or ribery.just get workers not overvalued superstars.

I will not agree with you SKANJOS. Do not forget the signing of Dani Alves last year. You have to spend sometimes to empower the team. However i will agree with you that you should only buy for the right price and not for the sake of buying.

the thing is dani alves was needed,we didnt have any good RB(aside puyol who is a beast hehe),zambrotta was out,we didnt have any backup too,we paid less than 40mil,and dani alves is a worker not a primadonna superstar

Breaking news:

BILD says that Bayern has given Madrid a deadline: they have nine more days to make an offer of 80 million euro for Ribery otherwise it's off.

Now would we also be allowed to bid? I wonder...

the german club really want to squiz madrid and get as many as they can i guess.ribery isnt worth 80mil,heck they gave those for ronaldo who is ages better and less for kaka who has won the best player award 2 times.i dont think real will bite on this one,tops 65mil for ribery i think will be reals offer.

Madrid won't offer much more than what they bought Benzema for.

I think there's only a really small chance of us signing Ribéry, what with Madrid's spending power & Bayern's unwillingness to let him go for anything other than an astronomical fee which Laporta which surely not fork out. However if we do sign him, what happens to the supposed Villa & Eto'o deals? They're off surely.

I dont think so Madrid will pay so much. They bargain for sure. Or maybe even include 2 or 3 players in it...

We need him as soon as possible we need to sign 3 great players this season a LW, CF, and DCM I prefer these 3 beacuase ofour budget.

LW:(Ribery) but only if they drop the price to about 50mil, I doubt they will so I think (Arshavin) godd do well.

CF:(Tevez) but we are really contacted with Valencia right now so (Villa) seems to be a great deal.

DCM: (Mascherano) seems better price than (Fabregas) and very similar qualities.

Prices:
Villa=50m
Tevez=35m
Ribery=80m! better if it was 50m
Arshavin=Around 25m
Mascherano=40m
Fabregas=46m

Which 3 would u prefer remember we only have 80mil to spend. So any1 choose ur 3.

WHY DO YOU ALL WANT HERE RIBERY?? HE IS NOT SO GOOD. HE IS OVERRATED. THE GERMAN Leauge is weak, with bad players, who are slow and technical shit. SEE VDV, he was a superstar in HSV...but the fact is, he is an averrage player. IF INIESTA OR MESSI WILL PLAY IN "BUNDESLIGA" they will make every game a skill-goal. 80k for Ribery is a joke...THEN BETTER 80 millions for STEVEN GERRARD!!!!!!!!!!

^ Anonymous,

I take it you're unaware of his performances for France on the international scene & for Bayern & Marseille in the Champions League & across Europe? He's an amazing player with an array of talent, who's been performingly exceptionally well over the last few years on a consistent level. To merely suggest Ribéry's not so good because of the league he plays in, is stupid. Personally, I think he's up there with some of the best players in the world.

And Steven Gerrard?! Can you honestly ever see Gerrard playing for Barça? Talk about incompatible. I'd gladly take Ribéry over Gerrard anyday.
