[2008] Seven B players taking part in pre-season

this post was published exactly one year ago:

Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that seven Barcelona B players will start the pre-season with the first team on Monday and will probably also travel with the group to Scotland (21-26 June).

It is expected that new Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola will promote some B players to the first squad this summer. The seven players are:

- right back defender David Córcoles (23)
- central defender Chico (21)
- midfielder Abraham (22)
- polyvalent midfielder Víctor Sánchez (20)
- attacker Víctor Vázquez (21 - picture)
- left winger Jeffren (20)
- right wing attacker Pedrito (20)

Without any official announcement yet, this list has been confirmed later on by Catalan sports paper Sport.

Where is Gai??? If that list is true, you can only hope the kid won't be too disappointed and start to set his mind elsewhere.

I agree, this is a slap in the face for Gai.

He had a long season (barcelona b, juvenil a, even the senior israeli national team) that just ended ten days ago, so that could be the reason Gai is not there (if this list is confirmed).

Bojan also refused to go with the Spanish national team to the Euro because of having played so much last season. Must that kid be disappointed now...

i hope the new manager knows what he is doing with Gai.

Do not worry about Gai Assulin. He will be included. This is just a story from El Mundo Deportivo. This is not official news from Barcelona. I believe that Gai will be part of the plans for next season.

Maybe he will join later (f.e. when the spanish internationals do).
