Maxwell alternative for Filipe as left back

Catalan newspaper El Periódico claims that Barcelona is getting tired of waiting for a deal on Deportivo left back Filipe Luis.

The club would therefore be considering to turn to another option and could soon start moving for Inter Milan left back defender Maxwell (27).

I guess its good player signing with him must be a good transfert
But I wish Tchiki has signed with Zhirkov !! really he is a incredible left back ...
moreover his dream is to play in Blaugrana ... but our lazy direction was and still sleeping !! and now the player is gone or chelsea
I hope Martin caceres stays in the squad cuz he is quit good

If Maicon stays at Inter, Santon will be the regular LB and I think this will make Maxwell force his way out.

Funny how theres no transfer rumours for brazi LB Andres Santos. He did real well in confederations cup and just judging the statistics he also seems to do great in corinthians.

Maxwell is a thug that demands first team spot which we can't give him. We should stay away from him!

i don't think that he would be a great reinforcement but he is obviously better than riiese..

filipe should be the main target!!
txiki should not even think about maxwell...

well i guess that maxwell does have a high paid contract and if you also count his transferfee.. no thank you!

I thought I saw some rumours about Andres Santos "going" to Juve a couple of weeks ago, but that's all. It is strange though as I also thought he was very good in that tournament. Maybe he's just a one-hit-wonder...? Doubt it though.

I'm actually very surprised that Maxwell isn't playing for Brazil. The LB spot for Brazil has been weak ever since Roberto Carlos retired and although Andre Santos is okay, he doesn't track back at all after he runs forward and I consider Maxwell a better player. Maxwell has the Brazilian flair and ball control and is also very composed and knows when to stop running forward.

cissoko is good defencively , has pace, good in takeles , has height and is physical , good shot on left foot and crosses to , can cover our aerial threat
cissoko is way better than others he can be long time option
abidal is 29 next year he will be 30 so we would have to ne wayy look for a first team player ..cissoko can compete with abidal and next season he can be 1st team player

Are we in the market for a left-back as cover for Abidal, or as a replacement?

@andresrivera

both, we're looking for competition & cover. if they turn out to be better than abidal then all the better.
