Medical: Iniesta will be available for Rome final

Barcelona's medical staff has announced that further tests today have indicated that Barcelona player Andrés Iniesta has a slight muscle tear of two centimetres in his right thigh.

Although it hasn't been confirmed what the actual recovery time could be, the player will most probably be available for the Champions League final against Manchester United on 27 May in Rome (read more
here). The specific recovery program will start today.

Asked about the injury, Iniesta told journalists after the tests that he felt relieved: "I will be ok for Rome. It's a little rupture. It's not that bad, I guess it was related to the stress and everything that goes with the end of the season. If it would have been a little higher, it would have been worse, but since it's lower, it's not that dangerous. Despite this blow, I'm happy today. The motivation I have to play will be decisive. I already had told the doctor before that I would be in Rome no matter what."

Fantastic news. Please, please, Pep, save players from now on, players are tired and need rest before the final to prevent injuries.

Thank God but I believe Pep is over working some players. Against villareal i was expecting yaya, iniesta, messi and xavi as well as pique to all rest. So that we could try sylvinho and carceres. What about Hleb why didn't he play, is it that pep doesn't know how to vary tactics, well i think so though he has done remarkably well, his subs haven't been good. Because i know he is going to start all the same players come wednesday i can bet on that. We can't afford to miss any player especially in defence else we will lose the champions league. He should think abt how he selects his team else we will have only the league after a very promising season. Next season i hope Abidal and Gudjohnsen will leave they are simply not Barca material.
And if u ask me who has disappointed me this season, then it is xavi although he is a good passer of the ball. His free kicks have been tooo poor. He should practice them, as for messi he must learn to shoot the ball often rather them moving about always trying to beat the goalie before shooting. Maybe we can get Zhirkov or Ribery. They will help us a great deal. Eto'o can leave so that we get a better replacement like Benzema, it can happen.

Lawrenzo, you are crazy, Xavi has been our most important player this season, together with Messi, incredible to say that Xavi has disappointed this season.

Hey guys, I feel your frustrations regarding pep's lack of rotation, I wish he would have given caceres or hleb a run out b/c they are likely to be playing more important matches for us in the coming weeks...but if anyone out our "first team" selection is exhausted it is NOT iniesta. He had two relatively long injury stretches earlier this year so in some ways he has a had some rest. I'd be more worried about alves, xavi, messi eto'o since they have been on the field for essentially 90% of the minutes this season.

My CL final line up

VV
Caceres Puyol Pique Keita
Yaya
XAVI Busquets
Messi
Iniesta
Eto'o

I think we need YaYa in the mid...i bet pep will start yaya as a CB along side pique with puyol at RB and Sylvinho at LB...this back line would be too slow to handle the counter attacks...

My preferred line also allows us to bring in some variation in terms of subs... we can push yaya back to cb...bring on sylvinho...push iniesta to mid and bring on hleb or bojan

Barca this session wasted too many chances from freekicks, whether from xavi or dani alves. I don't know about the statistics but I guess barca has low percentages of goal coming from freekicks.
Especially alves, he just wasted so many chances from freekicks, I wish in the future he can have more practice on that particular aspect.

We had so many freekick that very near to opponent goal post, but small number of goal. I hope it can be improved for the next season somehow, I missed the accuracy of dinho's freekicks :p

Lawrenzo says xavi has had a dissapionting season. that is the most incredibly stupid comment of all time period, regardless of how many free kicks he misses. Xavi the reason the team is doing so well this season or at least one of the main reasons. 32 assists in all comp. say enough.
