Next Madrid president not excluding Barca signing

Asked about the chance that he could sign a Barcelona player this summer, former Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez, who officially announced yesterday that he will be a candidate in the presidential elections of Real Madrid next month, didn't exclude the option at a press conference:

"I don't recall there's a non-agression pact with Barcelona. I don't remember that when we signed Figo I said that we wouldn't do that again. The reality is that when one uses his buyout clause, he's respecting his contract. Everyone can be affected by that, but that's how it is. I also bought Makélélé, I took well care of him, but he wanted to leave and so he left.

I will anyhow wait until the end of all competitions to talk about sporting issues. The results of Barcelona are a fact that we have to take into account. Barcelona is having an excellent season but instead of worrying me, it motivates me. We want a sporting project that will make us leaders in Europe, so we'll not only have to compete with Barcelona, but also with Manchester United, Chelsea, etcetera."

Asked about the statement, Barcelona president Joan Laporta said to journalists today that he thinks trying to sign a Barcelona player would be a waste of time: "I thank him for the praising words, but I didn't like the fact that he left the door open in a kind of mysterious way for a possible signing of a Barça player. If he would do it, I would consider that to be a sporting aggression.

Florentino Pérez is a respectable man and he knows about sportsmanship. The relations between the clubs are at this moment agreeable and absolutely respectful and we hope things to stay this way, whoever the next president of Real Madrid will be, Florentino Pérez or somebody else.

I also advise him not to try to sign a player, because he will fail, firstly because the players who are at Barcelona are committed to the club, and therefore any attempt would be in vain. So I would be thankful if he didn't dedicate time to try and destabilise Barcelona. He will not obtain anything and the truth is that it wouldn't be worth the time and the effort."

I think the situation is different now. That season, they didn't win a prize and it didn't look good with Van Gaal leaving, new president, etc... And you cannot see anyone of the stars join Real Madrid, the Catalans certainly not and the others (Iniesta, Messi, Eto'o, Henry) either.

...gudjohnsen,sylvinho and hleb are for sale,i think...but i'm not sure if they would like to play for such a (un)real team...

Maybe he will try to sign one of our youngsters, just cause he is an a-hole.

Iniesta Messi and Xavi have already said they are not going anywhere and I highly doubt etoo wants to go back to Madrid nor do Madrid want him back. Dani is happy here and Puyol and Pique are Barca boys that wont be leaving either. I dont think we have any other "galacticos" that Madrid would want besides these. Bojan and Sergi certainly aint going anywhere and floro isnt know for signing youth. More hot air than anything else, he could only sign figo because figo was stupid enough to talk to Madrid, Messi Xavi and Iniesta will not speak to Madrid even if they pay their buyout clauses

Perez can't develop any talent of his own, so he has to shop in Barcelona for decent players. What was his legacy?? The Zidanes and Pavons! Oh the Pavons developed from the 'youth' academy who could barely kick a ball. And how did he treat his 'galacticos'?? Roberto Carlos - free transfer. David Beckham - free transfer. Ronaldo loan to Milan then marginal fee. Claud Makalele - treated like crap and sold off. Yes Madrid has a proud history of even treating their 'galacticos' like crap and their 'Pavons' like fools.

One thing that has changed are the buyout clauses. He has to cough up a sum worthy of 30% of their revenues.

whether xavi, nor messi or iniesta or etoo would join madrid. the others are not interesting for madrid.

so as one said before: lol

these guys are truly barca fans. not as figo. he always was a stranger doing his job for money.

Figo was actually very proud of playing for Barça, but he wanted too much money and he happened to ask for it during a void in presidential power (the elections).

JUDAS figo is never welcome in Barcelona. We treated him too well and after Madrid used him they forget about him. And recently he say he regrets leaving Barca. He is a Judas and not welcome in Barcelona!

...look at him...how small he is...little snake lurking in the grass for victims...speaking to the dark side of every madridista...by telling he would buy players from us to hit us and bringing the fans behind him, angry, disappointed, make himself popular for the vote by trying to hit us on a other way after they missed on the pitch...diabolic,but funny...but there's something he should think about...figo,godamnhim,was weak by heart,at the end,a mercenery heartless playing where the money is,dazzled by a cockroach like himself is one...unloyal betrayer of the blaugranas...at the end he got what he deserved...for free to inter, send away like an old horse...but,the players now playing for barca ain't that weak...stronger than most in our history, playing with heart, blaugrana blood...now playing for the treble...playing football, not intergalactic, but from heaven...and most, ending career at camp nou,to take their place forever as legends,in the heads of all blaugranas, with unforgotten names, living forever in the memories and our history...so,i say, buck tha devil...he ain't worth even to take our players names in the mouth, but to take their rejection in the face...money can't buy you love 2009,clowny,freaky ass,dumbfaced,snakeeyed,hankypankman...
...love us or leave us alone...BARCA FOREVER!!!!!

Real Madrid team lineup 2009 2010
Kaka,Ronaldo,Ribery,Messi,Iniesta,Ibrahimovic,
David Villa,Siva,Fernanado torres,raul,Cassillas,Ramos

Looks like they will play only on the opponents half and leave Poor Cassillas alone in their side of the pitch

its getting more and more ridiculous with the f#ck*ng blancos trying to get homegrown barcelona players!
but nobody of them would ever be willing to move! its a shame that the only option to strenght their squad is to buy a catalan player!

forca barca

perez gives a new dimension to the word "asshole". no problem, i dont think anyone will leave a treble winning team.

If real can bid for our players why can't we try to do the same. I mean we cannot rule out the fact that real does have some great players and most of them will be shown the door when perez takes over.. so y not bid for them and show a taste of their own medicine to madrid.... :)
