Arsenal Preparing to Offer Cesc Raise

British tabloid News of the World is reporting that Arsenal would like to renegotiate Cesc Fabregas's contract so that the star midfielder will be less tempted by Barcelona's transfer requests.

Fabregas is under contract with the Gunners until 2014 at a rate of 90,000 pounds per week. This rate, while high, is not commensurate with the salaries of other top premiership players.

It is thought that by making Fabregas one of the highest paid players in the world's richest league, he will be less inclined to return to his boyhood team in Barcelona.

Last year was the only good transfer season.

Why not buy Gourcouff from Bordeaux? That kid got real skills and i suspect that we will cost around 25 million. Then you dont have to buy Cesc for 30+ million

Triaud, Bordeaux president have stated many times, that Gourcuff is not for sale, at any price.

I think that if Barca where to show interest, he would be priced at around 50 mil. €

Because Goucouff is still a kid & we do have similar talents waiting to jump into the wagon. I doubt we would be even going for Fabregas next year. I hope this is the last chance for that bugger to come to us. If he misses out on this I hope our kids do step up, we get back marc Crosas & that would be the end of the speculation linking Fab with us for ever... I hope he rot in that Arsenal squad forever. I started thinking in these terms ever since he stated he won't be concerned if he would have to go to Real & after Wenger came out and started bashing our board that we only think of political aspects and not footballing aspects it only fueled the fire

If you pay enough or offer another player in return they will sell. You can even loan him for another year to Bordeaux. In the 3 matches he played in the Ligue 1 he already scored 4 times and gave 2 assists. He could be a nice replacement for Xavi or Iniesta this year or next year when Gudjohnsen's contract is up.

Gourcuff just moved from milan to bordeaux and i dont think you can move twice in 1 transfer window despite what goal.com says.

was Negredo's deal permanent or loan? I think Madshit has a buy-back option from him

@ barca4live gourcuff could move to barca this season. The rule is you cant play for more than two clubs in one season but gourcuff hasnt actually played for milan this season. (remember ayala to villareal then the next day zaragoza signed him)
