Youth players take part in training sessions

Over the past two days several youth players have joined the training sessions of the first team.

On Thursday, Barcelona Atlètic players Jonathan, Masip, Nolito, Ilie and Montoya and Juvenil A player Gustavo joined in, this morning the selected ones were Barcelona Atlètic players Luque, Nolito, Ilie and Armando and Juvenil A players Etock, Gustavo, Terrón and Balliu.

Barça B: Masip returns from loan

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Vilajuïga goalkeeper Jordi Masip (20 - picture on the left) returns to Barcelona to act as back-up for Barcelona Atlètic goalkeeper Oier until the end of the season.

This way, Barcelona covers for the dropping out of Barcelona Atletic goalkeeper Miño who’s injured for the rest of the season (read more here).

Masip played last season with Barcelona Juvenil A and did the pre-season with Barcelona Athletic. Although he was loaned out to fourth division club Vilajuïga (read more here), he still was regularly training with Barcelona Atlètic this season.

Barcelona has last week officially announced the transfer of Barcelona Atlètic goalkeeper Jordi Masip (19) to Spanish fourth division club Vilajuïga.

Masip, who played last year as reserve goalkeeper with the Juvenil A team and started the pre-season with Barcelona Atlètic (read more here), has joined the Catalan club on a one-year loan deal.

Youth: 11 Juvenil players could make promotion

Eleven Juvenil players are currently taking part in the pre-season of Barcelona Atlètic (previously known as Barcelona B).

Depending on their performance during the pre-season, on the future transfers of the team and on which B players who are now doing the pre-season with the first team will stay with the first team, Barcelona Atlètic coach Luis Enrique will later decide which of those player will continue the season with his team.
