Debate: The transfer summer of Real Madrid

The summer transfer period came to an end on Monday at midnight. For Real Madrid this is the result of the transfer activity over the past months:

IN
Van der Vaart (Hamburg)
De la Red (Getafe)
Javi García (Osasuna)
Garay (Santander)

OUT
Robinho (Manchester City)
Baptista (Roma)
Soldado (Getafe)
Balboa (Benfica)

How do you think Madrid starts the new season? They've made good transfers, the squad is stronger? Or the opposite?

DEBATE: Next season's midfield

With some minor changes never to be excluded (like Crosas or Gudjohnsen leaving or some B player getting promoted), it seems that we have pretty much all midfielders on who we will be able to count next season in place.

So what's your idea about our next season's midfield? Given the 4-3-3 with one defensive midfielder and two more offensive players, which three players should Guardiola choose?

You can pick from the following eight names:

Marc Crosas
Eidur Gudjohnsen
Alexander Hleb
Andrés Iniesta
Seydou Keita
Rafael Márquez

Yaya Touré
Xavi

DEBATE: Next season's defense

With some minor changes never to be excluded (like Oleguer leaving or Henrique arriving and not being loaned out or some Barcelona B player getting promoted), it seems that we have pretty much all defenders on who we will be able to count next season in place. So what's your idea about our next season's back line? Who are the four guys who should take out those counter attacks and launch the attack?

You can pick from the following nine names:

Eric Abidal
Daniel Alves
Martín Cáceres
Rafael Márquez
Sylvinho Mendes
Gabriel Milito
Gerard Piqué
Oleguer Presas
Carles Puyol

DEBATE: Goal keeper

With the renewal of Pinto it seems that the Barcelona goal will next season be defended by the following three players: Víctor Valdés, José Manuel Pinto and Albert Jorquera.

What do you think about this trio? Valdés is the number one out of these three? The renewal of Pinto is a good thing? You would have prefered that Valdés had to leave? You think they should have brought another goal keeper in? If so, was it really a priority on which the club should have spend serious money? Who would you want to see as Barcelona goal keeper?

DEBATE: The summer 2007 transfers

Because I often read interesting comments on the blog but at the same time feel it's not easy to fully enter an issue because there are always fresh new rumours who shift the attention away, I'll put now and then an item up for the discussion.

Before we look to the future, it might be a good idea to make an evaluation of the four transfers of last summer: Thierry Henry, Gabriel Milito, Eric Abidal and Yaya Touré.

What is your opinion about the season of these four players? Who disappointed you, who pleasantly surprised you, were they worth the money we spent, should they stay,... ?
