Barcelona president Joan Laporta commented on the transfer events in an interview with Spanish radio station Cadena Cope.
Villa
Regarding Villa, it wouldn't be wise for me to reveal how the negotiations are going. He knows we want to strengthen the centre forward position.
Villa is one of the options and we would like to have him... But there are also others and everything will depend on the negotiations and the prices. Our strategy is to look at the market and to work hard.
Eto'o
His agent and Samuel have said that he wants to continue and the club has offered him to renew for two more years. What Mesalles does, doesn't help things forward. Mesalles tries to involve the media while these things should be dealt with during negotiations. Eto'o has disappointed and saddened me. He should value everything what Barça has given to Samuel.
Cesc
Cesc has the Barça DNA and I think that one day he should end up playing here. He has become a leader at Arsenal. It's player who we all like a lot, the technical department, the coach, myself... There's always talk about him but we're thinking carefully about our options.
Agüero
It's an honour he has said he wanted to play at Barça alongside Messi, but we have a great respect towards clubs like Atlético and we will never do things behind their back.

Txiki met with agent Kun Aguero this week
Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain met on Thursday morning with Arturo Canales, the agent of Atlético Madrid forward and Argentinian international Sergio 'Kun' Agüero (21).
The paper says that the meeting could mean that Agüero cannot be excluded from the list of possible transfer targets of Barcelona for both the centre forward as the left wing position (read more here). Canales, who is the representative in Spain of sports marketing agency IMG, is also the agent of Barcelona defender Piqué and could become the new agent of Barcelona striker Bojan.

Atletico ready to listen to offers for Aguero
Asked about the rumours linking Atlético Madrid forward and Argentinian international Sergio 'Kun' Agüero (21) with several European top clubs (read more here), Atlético Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has seemed to invite clubs to make a bid in an interview with Monaco radio station RMC:
"We will only start talking if we receive an interesting offer. Many people have spoken about Aguero but the truth is that Atletico have not been contacted by anyone so far."

Atletico president dismisses Aguero rumours
Asked about the rumours linking Atlético Madrid forward and Argentinian international Sergio 'Kun' Agüero (21) with a move to Barcelona (read more here), Atlético Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has told journalists that there's nothing to it:
"I'm convinced that Kun was making a joke the other day. He has a contract with Atlético for many more years, so I don't know what you're all talking about. Yesterday, one of your colleagues appeared with a Barcelona shirt with the name of Agüero on it. I don't think all of this is very serious.
Agüero, Forlán, Maxi and Simao are Atlético Madrid players. Who wants to sign them knows what he has to do: talk with the player to hear if he's interested and if he is, there's the buyout clause and that's it. There are two options to see Kun and Messi playing together: with the Argentine national team or with Atlético Madrid."

Aguero hints at Barcelona move
Asked about his future, Atlético Madrid forward and Argentinian international Sergio 'Kun' Agüero (21) has suggested to journalists that he would like to move to Barcelona in the summer:
"I wish to leave Atlético if they don't strengthen the team so we can compete for the league title next season.
Real Madrid? I certainly won't betray Atlético because they have always treated me very well. If I would join Real Madrid, I would show a lack of respect towards Atlético. Barcelona? Well, hopefully Messi can take me to Barça, but it's a matter of waiting for what the club officials decide."

A goalkeeper, a left back and a striker
Catalan newspaper Avui claims that Barcelona plans few changes during the summer transfer window (read more here).
Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola and Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain would already have met several times to discuss possible transfers and Barcelona would focus on buying three players: a goalkeeper, a left back defender and a centre forward.
Barcelona goalkeeper Víctor Valdés will stay the number one next season although Barcelona would like to sign a new goalkeeper who could put some more pressure on Valdés. Valladolid goalkeeper and Spanish youth international Sergio Asenjo (19) could be the main target. Barcelona goalkeepers José Manuel Pinto (33) and Albert Jorquera (30) could both leave if a good offer comes in.
With the contract of Barcelona left back defender Sylvinho (35) expiring at the end of this season (read more here), Barcelona wants to sign a solid back up for Abidal. For the centre forward position, everything will depend on what will happen with Barcelona forward and Cameroon international Samuel Eto’o (28).
If Eto’o leaves the first name on the list is Valencia forward and Spanish international David Villa (27). Chelsea forward and Ivory Coasqt international Didier Drogba (31) and Inter Milan forward and Swedish international Zlatan Ibrahimovich (27) could be other options.
A left wing attacker wouldn’t be a priority for the club anymore, although it’s not excluded that depending on the situation of the players, Barcelona could go after Valencia left wing attacker and Spanish international David Silva (23) or Atlético Madrid attacker and Argentinian international Sergio Agüero (20).

Aguero, Cesc and Asenjo could join this summer
Catalan sports paper Sport gives today an overwiew of what the paper claims could be the main movements during the summer transfer window.
If Eto'o decides to leave, he could be replaced by Atlético Madrid forward and Argentinian international Sergio 'Kun' Agüero (20) (read more here). And if Valdés would decide to leave, he could be replaced by Real Valladolid goalkeeper and Spanish youth international Sergio Asenjo (19) (read more here).
Barcelona will furthermore look for players who can replace Barcelona left back defender Sylvinho (34), whose contract expires at the end of the season, and Barcelona attacker and Belarus international Alexander Hleb (27), who will be put for sale. Arsenal midfielder and Spanish international Cesc Fàbregas (21) could return to the club.

Bojan monitored by half of Europe
Catalan sports paper Sport claims that several European clubs are interested in Barcelona forward and Spanish youth international Bojan Krkic (18) (read more here).
While most of the interested clubs, among which Ajax Amsterdam, would have asked Barcelona if Bojan could join them on loan, some would even be willing to pay the Catalan striker's buyout clause of 80 million euro° (read more here).
Olympique Lyon would be willing to include Bojan in a possible transfer deal on Benzema, while Atlético Madrid would consider the same thing in a possible deal on Agüero. Italian clubs AC Milan and Inter Milan would also be monitoring the player.

Barcelona has first option on Aguero
Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona has an agreement with Atlético Madrid regarding the transfer of Atlético Madrid forward and Argentinian international Sergio 'Kun' Agüero (20) that would at least state that Barcelona has the first option to buy the player.
Agüero, whose contract expires in 2012, would have made the decision that he will leave the Spanish club because he doesn't feel valued. He has ordered his representatives at player's agency IMG to look at the offers that have come in from clubs who want to pay his buyout clause of 55 million euro°.
Although Inter Milan is interested and several English Premier League clubs have made an offer for Agüero, who currently earns 3 million euro a year, sources close to Atlético Madrid say that if Agüero leaves he will join Barcelona and that everything indicates that he will play for Barcelona next season.

Transfer of Aguero is well underway
Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona wants to sign Atlético Madrid forward and Argentinian international Sergio 'Kun' Agüero (20) next summer.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta, who will leave the club in 2010, would want to leave a heritage and thinks the best way to do this is buying someone who will be a key player for years to come.
The whole transfer operation would already be well underway and Barcelona could already have reached a personal agreement with the Argentinian striker (read more here)
Barcelona would pay the transfer of Agüero partly with cash and partly with a two-year loan of Coritiba forward and Brazilian youth international Keirrison de Souza Carneiro (20), whom Barcelona will sign in a few months time thanks to the good relations with his agency Traffic (read more here), to Atlético Madrid.
The arrival of Agüero could also lead to the exit of Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o in the summer of 2009 and to Barcelona switching to a 4-4-2 system as of next season.

Verbal agreements on Aguero transfer
Argentinian sports site El Depornauta claims that Barcelona will sign Atlético Madrid forward and Argentinian international Sergio 'Kun' Agüero (20) next summer (read more here).
Barcelona would pay the 55 million euro° buyout clause of the player and Barcelona president Joan Laporta would be personally leading the negotiations with the player. With only a few details left, there would be a principal and verbal agreement between the two parties.
Barcelona manager Guardiola would have approved the transfer and sees a key role for Agüero in his team. Besides his football qualities, Agüero would also be appreciated because of his stable private life.
Argentinian football site Golpasión claims that Barcelona and Atlético Madrid have been holding talks for several months about a transfer of Agüero, who would be pleased with the idea of joining his Argentinian compatriot and close friend Lionel Messi.
With Barcelona willing to pay the buyout fee and Atlético wanting to hold on to the Argentinian striker until the end of the season, the two clubs would recently have reached a verbal agreement on a transfer in June of next year.

Transfer of Aguero to Barcelona is unlikely
Asked about the rumours linking Atlético Madrid forward and Argentinian international Sergio 'Kun' Agüero (20) with Barcelona (read more here), Atlético Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has said in an interview with Catalan radio station RAC-1 that he doesn't think the Argentinian striker will join Barcelona one day:
"I think that football fans will only be able to see Messi and Agüero play together with the Argentinian national team."
Earlier this week, when asked about rumours linking Agüero with English Premier League club Manchester City, Cerezo said to journalists that he was calm about the issue: "Those rumours don't worry me. I think that football players play where they want to play and that Agüero wants to play with Atlético because he's very happy with the team and the city. At this moment I'm more worried about Barcelona than about Manchester City."
