Scouting report recommends transfer Asenjo

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that the transfer of Valladolid goalkeeper and Spanish youth international Sergio Asenjo (19) is recommended in a scouting report drawn up by Barcelona goalkeeping coach Juan Carlos Unzué (read more here).

Asenjo would be preferred over Villarreal goalkeeper Diego López (27) because the first one is better outside the goal area and because he would cost less. While Asenjo has a buyout clause of 5,5 million euro°, Manchester United would already have made a bid of 26 million euro for Diego López.

Asenjo was again closely watched during the Valladolid versus Barcelona game last Saturday where the Spanish goalkeeper, who returned from an injury that kept him sidelined for a few months, again performed well with some crucial saves in the first half. People of his entourage would nevertheless believe that Asenjo is on his way to Atlético Madrid.

Hellooooooooo

His buyout clause is soooooo low. I can't believe they haven't tried to renegotiate it. Fernando Rodondo is a good agent for him. Let common sense prevail and let's get him before someone else does.

yeah he indeed is very cheap. get him now and let him play for one more year at valladolid. for now pinto deserves to stay a year longer.

so who do you guys prefer if we are going to buy a new GK?
for me its:
1.asenjo (cuz his young, cheap, and good even in his age-19-that not other young GK could do)
2.Frey (if we somehow missed asenjo to atletico, frey would be my choice, cuz..he's free :) )
3.others are the expensive ones like diego lopez, cech, etc, which I think we wouldnt buy, considering we need to buy for other positions)
but again, maybe we wont buy anyone, cuz, then again, we still have valdes :p
in pep we trust...
