Ronaldinho in his prime was a terrific player to watch, but he had just 2 or 3 years on that level.

Zidane was a lot of more consistent in his career. Hands down, Zinedine Zidane, possibly the greatest players of his time.

but zidane was nothing special. he was a good player but he had a lot of success. personally i think baggio is even better than zidane but he had not the same success. 3 times out due to penalty in world cups.

but ronaldinho did magic. he was really a lot better than zidane. he did curious things with the ball we haven't seen before. zidane was normal.

I didn't realise Zidane had hair on the top of his head at one time. :)

If Iniesta just learns how to score he could be just as good as Zidane. He has the same grace on the field.

Bogman, i completely agree with you. But i dont mind the way Iniesta is playing atm.

A GOAL IS A BEAUTIFUL SITE AND BRILLIANT FEELING....

BUT AGAIN!

whats with everyone making videos of goals from strikers. Thats their JOB on the pitch. To FINISH! I must of saw almost 5 amazing passes to both these guys..and of course only the player who last touches, before it sees the back of the net, gets all the credit.

Just reminds me why players like Xavi and Iniesta and other Magical Mid fielders that make these strikers able to score goals that much easier, always get snub and never receive the praise they deserve.

I ask where all there highlight videos of these players?!

***note*** !Im sorry! but Zidane should get no praise for how irrational he finished his career. Should not matter what any words where said on the pitch about anybody, your an athlete and superstar who is looked up by kids/people around the world. He set a wrong example and everyone should forget about him, no matter how talented he was.

!!TAKES A LIFETIME TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS (no pun intended) IN ANYTHING YOU DO, BUT ONLY TAKES A SECOND TO RUIN EVERYTHING YOU WORKED SO HARD FOR!!!

this is not a new concept.

I feel that it is wrong to judge a man by his one moment of weakness. If I were to do the same for you, then I'm sure I would be disgusted by things that you have done. And you too, would feel disgust for those acts committed by yet others. its not even a case of let he who is without sin throw the first stone. Zidane worked for his entire life for something and it was taken away due to one foolish error, 20 years of consistency lost in one moment. He has already been punished, why add to his burden?. And I find your assesment that 'everyone should forget about him...' to be utterly moronic. we are separated from animals by an ability to feel empathy and learn from the mistakes of not just themselves, but others. Zidane's WC2006 is an invaluable lesson which should be forever remembered alongside and in contrast to the man he was. He was a great man for all but a moment, remember THAT.

Areign - plz read my last line.

im not taking any talent away from him, he was an exceptional player BUT he ruined it and their is no-one to point fingers or blame, other than himself.

In todays world people only and always will remember and look to the bad of people and what they do. This how the world works -

sooooooooooo.....

Tuck in your shirt, hike up your skirt
Welcome to the jungle where the tigers give birth!

THIS IS THE WORLD WE LIVE IN!
(dont blame me) i only speak the truth

i read your post several times. trying to forget him is moronic calling him a bad person is even dumber. theres a reason why 99/100 is still an A+, anything else would be rediculous. thats the world we live in.

Zidane was only good when he was doped at Juventus. The french just overhyped him because they needed a new Platini. Nothing special.

Damn this is getting deep! Both won world cups and champion leagues, both graced the world of football, and it was a privilage to see both, but in twenty years time kids are going to know the name of zidane above R10, as few if any players consistently maintaned such a high level. in those two years R10 was better, just, but it was only two years. zidane might of acted stupidly at world cup but he is only human, he will be one of the four best in football history,
1. Maradonna
2.Pele
3.Cruyff
4.Zidane
just a shame he had to play for THEM, only blemish, also soon to a new no1, also argentinian no10!
