Counterproposal Deportivo for Filipe comes too late

Less than one hour after the official announcement of the transfer of Inter left back Maxwell, Deportivo La Coruña put out an official statement saying that the club had sent Barcelona a formal counterproposal regarding a transfer of Deportivo La Coruña left back defender Filipe Luis (23).

The statement on the Spanish club's official website says that Deportivo received a first written offer by Barcelona on Friday 10 July and that they sent yesterday afternoon by fax a counter proposal that was a lot less than the buyout clause of 20 million euro°.

El Mundo Deportivo says Filipe's girlfriend had already given up her job and was looking for a place for them to live in Barcelona.

is it too late now?i dont think it is.lets say we signed maxwell why dont we sign filipe too and loan him out?or use maxwell in dm or LF and keep filipe as a LB .its a great deal.
maxwell is an awesome versatile player and we can use him as a dm replacement so why shouldnt we sign filipe if it is for 10mil?and we have covered 3 positions(lb,lf,dm)with 2 players.

after those 2 we only need a striker and a cb and we are done :).if the maxwell deal was for LF and DM and possible LB cover and to lower filipe deal then i salute to barca board they have done great.no need for masherano/poulsen or any other DM player

I feel sorry for him after he got so optimistic about coming to barca. He can thank it down to his club - but Maxwell is more experienced and cheaper so it works out good for barca too. The money we saved will hopefully enable us to get Villa and after his will to cut his salary - i'm sure Valencia can see his desire to become an azulgrana. Forca Barca and I hope the Villa situation is solved before next week!

its a bit tough for him ...his dream move had been blocked..feel sorry for him

the delaying thing is just like saying no or trying to get more money...deportiva thaught eventually we would agree since we had a pre season dedline.. and we needed a lb so deportiva was trying to play tough ...which eventually has resulted in loss for them in the form of demoralized player..but its very unlucky and huge personel loss for felipe too

act wht ever happened was for good this gives a msg to all clubs who directly raise there price if we r interested in particular player tht if u dont agree a fair deal we will move on for other alternatives in the interest of club ..!!!!

Well I'm going to be cruel and say it's his fault too. I mean you gotta start acting up when your club clearly is just trying to fuck with us.

If he really wanted it, he'd have issued his own ultimatum to Depor rather than waiting for Barca to bend to Depor.

I hope he does a press conference and blames everyone in Depor. That would be lovely.

His agent and he has done everything they can, Cesc Pistol. If a club says 'no', there's not much you can do, certainly when you have four more years of contract.

Deportivo really screwed up his Life!!
He lost the greatest oppurtunity to get some name for himself and subsequently money plus chance to play for the national team.
Now its all lost !
I'm sure he'll curse Deportivo all his life for what they did for him.

i heard that his agent said he was crying and in shock after he heard the news about maxwell.

Fuc* deportivo.poor filipe.if what r10fcb said was true then i bet he'll be very very very pissed off with what depor did to the poor man.

Serve out his contract and come to us for free. He has 4 years left and by that time abidal and maxwell would be over 30. He would be 27.

But i say again screw greedy depor, you wanted 12 million now you have and unhappy player.

He wants to leave anyhow after what has happened. You might see him end up at Madrid...

press conf? You want him to do an eto? I wouldnt appreciate that!!

maybe this is good for us because valencia and other teams do now recognize that barca will really look for alternatives if the price tag is unrealistic and too high.

That counter proposal by Depor was nothing more than them trying to save face once they got wind of the fact we were signing Maxwell for peanuts. That is just them attempting to salvage relations with Filipe for screwing him over.

Filipe really wanted to get on Dunga's radar for the WC, and saw a move to Barca as his way of getting into the Brazilian team. I feel bad for him, but he will get his big move eventually...just not to Barca unfortunately.
