Spanish first division club Sporting Gijón has yesterday officially announced the transfer of Barcelona Atlètic central defender and Spanish youth international Alberto Botía (20).
The Spanish defender will join Sporting on a one-year loan. Barcelona has officially confirmed the deal.
Madrid sports tabloid As claims that Botía had first extended his contract with Barcelona, that expired next summer, with two more years. Sporting would get a fee for the loan if the centre-back plays at least ten games next season, as well as a part of the transfer fee if Barcelona decides to sell Botía next year. A second loan year would also be a possibility.
