[2008] Deco could be new Bayern star transfer

this post was published exactly one year ago:

German tabloid Bild claims that Bayern Munich is interested in Barcelona midfielder Deco (30). Bayern Munich general manager Uli Hoeness has said his club will sign a first class player and the tabloid says that Deco is on the list, together with Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini and AS Roma defensive midfielder Daniele De Rossi. Bild claims that Hoeness was spotted in Barcelona on Thursday. The Portuguese international would at least cost 8 million euro°.

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona will let Deco go if a good bid comes in. It's believed that the player is still rated highly by many clubs who could push hard fot the Brazilian born midfielder. Inter Milan and Atlético Madrid are rumoured to have Deco on their wish list and are expected to present an important offer. Asked about his club's interest in Deco, Inter president Massimo Moratti said yesterday that they are now focusing on winning the league and that they will look to the player's market later.

Madrid sports tabloid As thinks that the future of Deco in Barcelona is linked with that of Barcelona manager Frank Rijkaard. The delicate relationship with the coach means the player will almost surely leave if Rijkaard would continue next season. With another manager on the Barcelona bench, Deco, who already thought about leaving in January but in the end decided to stay because he feels good in the city, will consider to be part of the new project and to start his fifth season in Barcelona.
