Renewal offer for Bojan

Catalan television channel TV3 claims that Barcelona has offered forward Bojan Krkic (17) to renew and extend his contract until 2013. Barcelona president Joan Laporta would be personally involved in the negotiations.

When he was 16, Bojan signed his first contract with Barcelona (read more here). Although he signed for five years (three years plus an option for two more years), the Spanish legislation limits the contracts for minors to three years, which means that the contract of Bojan expires in 2009 (read more here). The player has a buyout clause of 60 million euro.

While Bojan earns now 60 000 euro plus incentives a year, his salary would rise to 1,75 million euro plus incentives a year. It can be expected that this salary will have to be adapted again quite soon if the player can confirm his current form in the coming months and years. Although Milan and Chelsea are offering the player more money (up to 2,5 million euro a year), Bojan doesn't think about leaving and it is expected he will sign a new contract soon after he turns 18 in August of this year.
