Eto’o wants to renew until 2014

Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona forward and Cameroonian international Samuel Eto’o (28) wants to renew his contract, that expires in the summer of 2010, for three or four more years.

Eto’o thinks that there’s no better place to live than Barcelona and that there’s no other club like Barcelona.

The entourage of the player assured that Eto’o isn’t being influenced by the rumours linking other strikers to the club and that he’s only focuses on his game. If the club offers him a better contract, Eto’o, who doesn’t plan to ask for an excessive pay rise, will sign until 2014.

Good news if true. We can use the best striker in the world over the past 5 seasons for another couple of years.

For me he can stay for as long as he wants.

Rather than 4 yrs, I would want to renew him for 2 more, maybe with a contract sufficiently loaded with incentives to keep him happy.

On the pitch and the training ground Samu is the model professional. He is just about as hard working a player as you can get. Off the pitch he has his moments, but i think his work on the pitch has earned him the right to voice his opinions. I also think he has earned the right to play for us as long he wants (as long as his salary demands are within reason).

There are probably better strikers out there, but none that would understand the Barca style like our man does. He knows exactly what is required of him all the time and now that he, Henry and Messi are really starting to understand each other on the pitch....well it would just be silly so split them up. MAYBE get a left winger to rotate with Henry, but I think Eto'o should and will stay. If he does decide to leave Villa would definitely be the easiest fit.

Why should we get rid of Eto'o even though Villa might come?Samuel is a Barca legend.Villa and Eto'o could rotate in CF position.Only problem is how two world top strikers can handle sitting in bench every now and then.Villa-Eto'o-Messi would be great but Villa is sure no winger.

sign a contract for 4 years and sell him after 2 or 3 years after evaluating his capacities at tat point of time... best striker now and for atleast 3-4 years by a biiiiiig mile!

sounds fake, the only time i ever even consider these rumors is when i start seeing it everywhere and then it dies down, kinda like with ribery a couple of weeks ago before barca and bayern CONFIRMED it

now with eto, he cant stay forever, i bet a bunch of people like u guys were saying 3 years ago that ronaldinho should stay until he retires or something LOL but i feel like u guys act like hes irraplacable, and some people would want to rotate him with villa or somebody which is really unrealistic

but u gotta remember the evidence, this is the first time i heard a rumor of eto staying rather than leaving in a long time, thats not all. remember all the things he said in those interviews and lets not forget about what happen last summer

also if we do keep him, but we still buy a new CF (villa, aguero) i can imagine eto not cooperating at all with that and we'll probably see an eto of what ronaldinho was like last season

I have no problem with renewing for 3-4 years. He knows the club and the system and later in his career can come off the bench like an impact striker.
