Ribery transfer unlikely this summer

Asked about the rumours linking Bayern Munich wing attacker and French international Franck Ribéry (25) with a move to Barcelona (read more here), Barcelona president Joan Laporta has said in an interview with Catalan radio station Catalunya Ràdio that he thinks it's unlikely the Frenchman will join in the summer:

"It's a very decisive player for his team but I've understood from Bayern CEO Rummenigge that he'll stay at Bayern. We would never sign Ribéry behind the back of his club because of the good relationship between our two clubs."

Ribery is too expensive and it takes time to adapt in La Liga. I dont doubt his skills but in this situation I would prefer Silva in LW position.Silva is much cheaper too....Go Barca!!!

If we are friends with bayern we should not behave as real madrid did with ronaldo for example. That way if bayern do decide to sell one of their players that we like or vice versa, we can do a deal that has little complication and makes both sides happy.

all this speculation wouldn't be around if hleb shows up.

But Ribery looks like he's 40 years old. Do we know if his official age is really true?

I don't think you have to doubt Ribery's age. He is born in France.

I totally agree with Tero. Silva is a better option for us.

Doubt that Silva will be much cheaper option. Yes, Valencia will accept any kind of offers, IF the interested party only come from Barca.

The current situation is nearly all top teams, including those mega-rich-with-sugar-daddy EPL teams, are interested in Silva. Moreover have you guys heard what kind of money Juventus are reportedly ready to splash out for him?
