Contract duration problem for Marquez renewal

Catalan sports paper El 9 Esportiu claims that Barcelona is working on the renewal of Barcelona central defender and Mexican international Rafael Márquez (30).

The renewal negotiations with the player would have been intensified over the past days and although the talks would be well-advanced, the duration of the new contract would remain the main obstacle (read more here).

While Barcelona would have offered Márquez, whose current contract expires at the end of this season, to renew for two more years (one year plus an option for a second year), the player would want to extend his contract for three more years (two years plus an option for a third year).

he clearly knows we bought Chiggy, so he is accepting a secondary role~

Chgrynskiy who should sit in the secondary role not Marquez. Chgrynskiy is just an option we will use when we have many matches in the same time.

Rafael Marquez deserves as many years as he wants, the man truly bleeds barcelona.

He has been a world class player for us and for that I thank him and wish he retires while wearing a barca shirt.

marquez should definitely stay because i think a lot of our younger, and newer centerbacks can learn a lot playing with him. pique grew as a player playing beside him, and i would really like him to stay because his presence is good for guys like chyggy and muni

two year would be right for us.
we bought chygro and have muniesa or fontas, botia henrique.

Let him leave this summer, he is always injured anyway and we have many promising players.

Marquez just cant stay another 3 seasons only because he deserves it for the past, that would be a stupid step. And it could cost us Puyol too...

2+1 sounds good to me,he's an important player and his long passes are phenomenal.I rate him better than Chyggy because he already knows our way of playing
