Barcelona keeping an eye on Robinho

Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona is still interested in Manchester City left winger and Brazilian international Robinho (25).

After the failed last-minute attempts of last month - officals of both clubs would have met to discuss a transfer both in Barcelona in the margin of the Joan Gamper game as in Monaco last week - Barcelona plans to monitor the situation of the Brazilian winger, who could still take part in the Champions League if he would join Barcelona in the January transfer window.

While Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola would be fond of the player, Manchester City coach Mark Hughes wouldn't have a good relationship with Robinho and could count less on him this season. This might lead Barcelona, that failed to strengthen the left wing this summer, to make a new move in the next months if the English Premier League would be willing to sell at an acceptable price.

best possible replacement for henry, however, shitly expensive. scoring winger, great player. anyone who says "he is arrogant" must understand that most star athletes (including ibra) are arrogant.

I dont see Ibrahimovic as arrogant. At least after watching the document about him I think he is a quite nice person.

But Robinho isnt. It wouldnt be such a problem for me that he played for Real Madrid. But he is a PARTY BOY and there is a reason why Hughes doesnt like him. We have a nice hard working squad and this slacker could have a negative impact just like Ronaldinho had during 2006-08.

I also dont think this type of winger is needed. I would prefer someone more "straight-lined" like Ribery. Robinho is like a worse version of C.Ronaldo - holding the ball too much and doing useless tricks. Sadly he is missing the free kicks and shot from distance like CR9 has.

Ronaldinho - Eto'o - Giuly worked because there was one genius and one direct winger.

Ronaldinho - Eto'o - Messi didnt work too tell.

Henry - Eto'o - Messi was ok again as Henry worked much harder then Ronaldinho.

This would work though I would much rather Ribery...

How much would he cost?
Can we afford both Cesc and Robinho this winter?
I Cesc returns home, where would Robinho play (assuming that Iniesta would be moved to LW and Cesc would play CM)?
I think he is a fantastic player, he seemed humble and down to earth, when he was at Madrid.

However, personally, I would much prefer Kun for the LW.

city bought him for 32mil last year so they will want around that figure i guess. IF pep can sort out his attitude and work rate he could be a great addition, but i dont think its a good idea in january as if ibra hasnt started putting in his shifts by then we will have two players that dont hassle the defence, next summer ibra will be well into our game and then we can get him, but i agree with soren aguero would be a much better option and not that much more expensive.

I think wee should get Robinho or Robben to replace Henry maybe even Ribery if Zidane hasnt brainwashed him to much

SJP : City bought him 42 million Euros (not 32) and I agree that Kun or Ribery would be a better option.

I think we should buy Robinho if it is possible, he will bring samba back to Barca, my only concern is if he gains 20 pounds and he loses his speed. I am also pretty sure Rossel could convince him to join Barca

He will bring the partying and dressing room problems to barca

No more party boys please. Unless they are grounded like Alves.

Do not want. I will protest this one all the way. We don't need his kind in Barca and Pep should know that better than anyone else. Trust in our own youth. And I would rather just get Cesc in the winter.

aguero is great fit for us. scores and has tremendous work rate

I think we should go for a modern left-winger like Dzsudzsák, who's an amazing player.

I think Ribery is the man to replace/rotate with Henry. Ribery is world class and easily among the best footballers on planet earth. Though, Zidane and RM might have the edge, I still hope we acquire his signature. Robinho is a party animal, reminiscent of Ronaldinho's latter days, I think we should avoid Robinho at all costs. As for Fabregas, I think we should go for him either next summer or in two years time, not during winter transfer window!

Reply to Anony first comment: Ibra is NOT as arrogant as people make it out to be, the only reason some people say it so, is because a certain section of the media have portrayed him as such. I dare you to watch some of his documentaries, and you'd be astonished to his coolness, humbleness, heart, compassion and how down to earth he really is.

I think Robinho will occupy the right flank perfectly and amazingly. He will add so much to Barca. I think the guy wants to play with us so eagerly. The only thing he needs to improve on is his attitude and defencive abilities. If Guardiola wants him so badly, i think he will manage to take the best out of him. In Pep we trust

no way should robinho come to barca..we should get a hardworking player, not a lazy party boy..
i say we should start an online petition to stop laporta from buying robinho..thats how much i hate him!
we might as well add a bit more money and buy aguero, villa or even ribery..
aguero is my best bet as he is still young so the money will be well spent
