Barcelona's medical staff has announced that Barcelona player Maxwell (28) has suffered a contracture of a quadriceps muscle in the front of his left thigh during yesterday's league game against Sporting Gijón.
Maxwell will be under observation for the next couple of days and will be further examined on Wednesday to determine the exact extent of the injury.

i hope its not as bad as iniesta's quadriceps injury
It's apparently not really bad, less than Bojan's injury according to first reports.
so sad for him,i wish he gets a speedy recovery
Maxwell performance in his first league debut was really bad. He was attacking a lot leaving his spot empty, and when he covered he did a huge mistake. He was lucky that Valdez was alerted. His performance against Bilbao was really good though. I don't think that the team will miss his services. Abidal is there. Also, we can play Piouqe in right SB while Chygrynskiy playing as an CB. Good luck Maxwell.
I think we shouldn't play Alves and Maxwell at the same time, especially Maxwell looked very confused at times with his positioning
