i really feel that my vote counts in this poll, especially because it was worth 33% of the total votes.

Enjoy that feeling while it lasts... :)

Iniesta should of course be the one. What are people thinking??

...ribery is very good, but for me,there's no better option than silva...while ribery is playing for munich and becoming a star, silva is more the guy who would suit in at barca as a good add to messi and etoo with more teamplaying skills then ribery...ribery is best and feels best when you let him play freely and give him many space, like dinho had, what could be difficult with players like xavi, iniesta or messi...silva showed how good he add with xavi and iniesta at the eurocup...while ribery struggles with france...silva is versatile, agile, fast like ribery too and also knows how to play in barcas system, that is also played by the spanish team too...the other thing is that a frenchman never improved at barca...but no problem if he would prove me wrong...

Ahemm.. 'frenchman never improved at Barca' ?? Thierry Henry? if you don't call this season an improvement over the last, I don't know what is an improvement.

BTW it seems that Ribery is staying at Bayern while Silva is almost surely leaving Valencia.. lets see what Txiki does at the end of the season..

Silva is a far far cheaper option and he is in par wit Ribery wit respect to skills... and he knows how to play in Spain... so, logically Silva would be a better buy unless Txiki plans on splashing cash on Ribery...

guys, ribery is good but he would never score and assists as much as henry is doing.

i would love to see aguero filling that position. his abilities allows pep to teach him the left wing position like he and rijkard did with henry. if eto'o doesnt play as a striker for different reasons than aguero could play his position. that guy is worth gold.

silva is 3-4 years younger than ribery. that would put him a little in a better position. but i don't know if he is really as agile as ribery is. both silva and ribery aren't scoring or assisting wingers. there are a lot better out there. what about robinho? i'm not really sure if he's a happy at manchester. he is currently the best left winger in the world. what about his buyout clause? maybe he would be pleased to play for barca because he left madrid in a bad way. what about some revenge :)

the person who barca buys would be next season`s left winger because it does not matter what anyone of you say for barcelona has the final word on who to purchase and who not to buy

Anonymous said...

So smart anonymous. we didn't figure that out. DOUHH!!

Robinho? Give me a brake. The best left winger in the world? in what? Drinking and using drugs maybe...

I think Ribery would be perfect for Barca for the sheer pace and talent of the man. All we'll need is a LB (Evra??) and a GK for an unbeatable team.
Alves-Messi on the right and Evra-Ribery on the left with Xavi-Etoo in the centre. Yaya, Puyol and Iniesta plugging the other gaps and creating more for the attackers... would be splendid...
Silva wouldn't be too bad either, he already has an understanding with Xavi and Iniesta from the La Roja Furia team.
So Txiki, please get either of the two... and GK pleeeeeezzzz

@Tero: Have you ever seen Robinho playing soccer? He was maybe the best player in spain last season.

Silva made 4 goals and 4 assists in 23 games this season.

within the last years he played 163games and he made 23 goals and 18 assists.

i like him but that's really poor for a left winger.

Robinho 179 games, 50 goals and 28 assists

Henry 184 games, 103 goals and 29 assits

Ribery 167 games, 45 goals and 56 assists.

i thing silva would be the worst choice.

last one :)

messi 145 games, 73 goals and 38 assists

I agree with Anonymous. Robinho indeed might have been the best player in Spain last season. In my opinion he was the best. And to say that he abuses drugs and drink is ignorant, because with the right attitude and motivation, Robinho is arguably the best left winger in the world. He surely is more talented than Ribery. He is also more dangerous.
Some people will call me crazy or perhaps stupid but Robinho is world class when he is world class. Full stop.
I would love to see him at Barcelona. We would be unplayable with him and Messi on the wings. Nobody could defend that.

Gai Assulin is the real deal. If you watch a 'Barça Atletic' it's easy to see that he has something special. He will soon get the double nationality and I expect him to be playing for both Barça and Barça Atletic next season.

...the statistics above are nice,but...ribery's games also including games in turkey for gala and for marseille france...while silva played his games in la liga...and so many games, for a guy who's also eurocupwinner, isn't that bad at his age...to vj...have to say that henry very lately made a step forward...nice to see...this season seems to become a good one for him...but there were many like blanc, christanval, dugarry, petit, giuly a little wo were not at their best at barca...but f'it as long the team improves...to robinho...i'm not a big fan of babyboys...so b'please...ONE LOVE!!!

Barcelona need a LW than can also play as a striker, which is why Henry is perfect for Barcelona. With the front line constantly switching places, it would be hard for ribery or silva to to play as ST. Going by this season, the only other person that might be able to play the same way as Henry would be Villa, but he probably woundn't go out on the wing enough.

Henry > All.

Or what about iniesta on the left wing and Fabregas in midfield? Just puttin it out there!

SimonP said...

I think we should use Henry next season too. If we sign a new winger then there are no spots avaliable for Gai in the next 5-10 years.

I've heard that Gai is really close to a PL-club (Chelsea), can anyone confirm/deny that rumour?

What we really need is a backup-keeper, leftback, backup-rightback and a new striker instead of Eto'o, this is the time to sell him. It would be the best for the club.

i agree with people wanting robinho, the lad is amazing and you can tell by watching him play with brazil national team.he would fit us perfectly ,he is better than ribery and cheaper .

i voted for silva, mainly because robinho option wasnt in the poll and i dint want to vote someone else.

also iniesta is not a pure winger, yes he can play there but he doesnt want to and he plays better in midfield.also we are more of a threat with iniesta on midfield and a left winger.

come on laporta bring robinho to barca.....funny thing is that the lad calmed down now, chilled his head and he is hungry for trophies, moving to city was a good move in order for barca to get him.lets see if we can do the henry + money trade for little roby. in my book robinho>henry>any player on that list any day

Why do we always have to buy players?? We have the best youth system in the world so use them!!

My first choice would also be gai assulin!! great talented player! A little bit messi like. Hope he gets next year the spnish passport and will be promoted to the A team!

If not it would be a shame! So we would have enough people as forwards if everyone stys. Thats my opinion.

If pep really decides to buy a forward we should get agüero. Great young player with pretty much talent. I know that he is not a really winger but he has the physis and technique to play there.

...gai?...you people must be joking...if gai is good enough,he surely will find his way...but with his age of 17 years and b-football experiance in 2-3 years he could be an good add or more...did anyone of you specialists saw him playing in a-team games?...think not...not everyone is a messi...see bojan...
