Medical: Iniesta to get green light soon

Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona player Andrés Iniesta (25) is close to receiving the green light from Barcelona's medical staff.

Iniesta would travel with the squad to Monaco on Thursday, although the decision about his possible participation in the European Super Cup game against Shakhtar Donetsk will only be made at the last minute.

Iniesta tore a quadriceps muscle on the front of his right thigh during the league game against Villarreal on Sunday 10 May and although he played the Champions League final against Manchester United on Wednesday 27 May, he has never fully recovered from that injury. On Friday 5 June, the medical staff of the Spanish football federation confirmed that the player has torn a muscle in his thigh and he was then expected to be out for the next six to eight weeks.

Let us hope he will be ready as soon as possible! He is our best player together with Xavi and Messi (and maybe Ibra in the future!)

I'm really looking forward to see the Barcas strongest attacking setup made of Toure, Xavi, Iniesta, Henry, Zlatan and Messi.

iniesta should take his time to the pitch slowly,we dont need him to beat shaktar.let him have 20-30 minutes at the first league game in monday thats enough to get him started

Excellent news! No need to rush Iniesta and I'm against seeing him play against Shakhtar. Let him start playing slowing to regain his match fitness. We love you Iniesta.
