Laporta stays in charge

Barcelona president Joan Laporta, who had put his position at the disposal of the General Assembly after the vote of no confidence at the beginning of July (read more here), can continue as president after winning the vote today (55,8 per cent in favour and 39,9 per cent against). Laporta's term ends in the summer of 2010.

I think Barca can just leave the team as it is now or just buy a cheap and decent left winger like Neves because next season we can use Pedro, Jeffren and Gai Assulin next season as left winger. Also to save some money to buy Benzema and a left back next season. Next season, I think Barca should sell a centre back when Henrique arrives. The last thing I think Barca have to do before the season starts, is to replace Valdes with someone else. Akinfeev, Given..... whatever.

I really dunno what to think about him...after the first few years he was immortal for me...he did everything right and got this team from absolute mediocrity to greatness within 3 years.

Barca was everything I had dreamed about...but at the same time, Laporta has made many mistakes in the last 2 seasons....the transfer policy has been a failure and the success and gone down the toilet.

I guess I'm indifferent in this case. I think he should have retired because he has no support whatsoever and is a constant distraction right now. But I don't hate him or anything, so I guess I will just get used to the idea.

Txiki also needs to do a better job...his head is on the line for me. If Barca fails again this year, he needs to get the axe.

I'm happy tho this soap seems to be coming to an end.
