Although I would have preferred to have seen the first leg of the Shakhtar match played at Camp Nou I'm sure the players would argue otherwise preferring to travel to Donetsk for their encounter on Oct.1st rather than Dec.9th where the elements could become a factor.

At least we get Sporting Lisbon at home first which for all practical purposes - based on talent alone - should provide our stiffest competition. Still if Barcelona play up to their capabilities they should advance from this group with relative ease.

Maybe if we could have had Basel first at home, it would maybe be slightly better but this is probably like the perfect draw. Starting and finishing at home, avoiding the Ukrainian winter, Basel third and fourth game, which mean we could be almost qualified after the fourth game (touching wood, but please we shouldn't be too humble either).

Ferguson has said he thinks Barça and Juve are this year's favourites for the Ch. League. For what it's worth, of course...
