Definitely a 10. Even though he did cost us a fortune. And pep, I haven't seen you around at the offside lately. Feel free to drop by whenever. You're a big favourite over there. Still, keep up the good stuff.

It's just a lack of time, Jack. Keeping this blog going doesn't leave me with much extra time. Guess it will be less once the transfer window closed. Reading it still though. I'll try to drop by one of these days.

I would say 9. In attack he's the best there is. If he doesn't neglect his defensive tasks too much, I'll rectify at the end of the season wit a 10.

Alves will hopefully be one of the best signings not only at Barca but across Europe this summer, he might have been a little pricey but will add so much down the right and help to break down teams when they just sit back and put ten men behind the ball. He is the best attacking full back out there, will chip in with a few free kicks and goals (as he's shown against Barca in the past). He has a great attitude and will mix it up if needed too.
Must be a 10.

Well, you have made 2 posts in about an hour, so I can see where you're coming from. I know you mustn't have a life outside Barca, but what's life without it?

Pep, while designing my new blog - football cafe'- I came to think that you usualy use an out source to make your polls instead of using the poll service available on the blog site, I am not sure if that reduce the Ads ruturn for the blog. if it will be a blog for fun, then who care, but your blog return go for charity, meaning, every cent worth. so i thought may be you need to make sure which option earn better (I have no idea).
I know the return of ads is not that much to be taken seriously but we just do our best.

As for Alves, if i will consider him only as a RB, i will give him 10 for potentials but being that expensive mean the transfer will get something between 8 and 10.
but he is a package 3 in 1, RB, assits/crosses generator (so he is a kind of playmaker), plus a goal scorer....for that i will give a 10.

10!
The most significant signing of barca since ronaldingo i belive.

Best in the world in his position and with messi up the side too barca's right flank could be the most terrorising one in the history of football.

cant wait to see him in action!

He is the best signing of the summer no doubt about that. He is the best right back in the world. He attacks and defends and has a very good vision in free-kicks.

The best signing we made this summer, now we have the strongest right side in the world
Alves-Messi

The player is a 10 but he cost us way too much so I only give the transfer a 9.

@Ramzi:

I tried the blogspot-poll several times but it doesn't work, there's just some white space insead of the poll. In terms of return, I don't think it matters if people vote at some side box or in a post.

@pep may be u forgot either to fill the poll items or forgot to save the changes (it worked for me as u may check), but anyway if its the same revenue then, stick to what work bro, good luck.
by the way I am trying some kind of blog promoters, i just signed up to sum, if it worked I will recommend it...if it caused troubles in my blog then... feel lucky for having me as a laboratory mouse hehe

I did everything right, I think, tried several times. Might just be the template.

Yeah thanks, could be interesting, let me know. Didn't even know that blog promoters exist. I'm my own blog promoter but some help could do.

Alves is the perfect right back as he has enough speed and skill to play with Messi on the right. =>

Call me harsh but I don't believe there's such a thing as a "perfect" signing. So bearing that in mind I give Alves a "solid" (8). Why (8)? - because that leaves room for improvement.

Even if Alves is the "ideal" player to fill the vacancy at the right back position, he still has to get acclimated to a new system and a whole new supporting cast. That all takes time. Which means that Alves's impact should be felt much greater towards the second half of the season as he slowly begins to get settled at the club.

Some will argue that Alves is currently the "greatest" right back in the world. Even if that were true he still has to "prove" and show that at Barcelona. If he is truly "great" then he will be just as good if not better than he was during his time at Sevilla, but only time will tell.

The bottom line is that Alves is truly a rare talent but he may succumb to unreaslistic expectations from the fans at the onset. So matter how well he performs it will never be good enough because "we" (the press and the fans) have set the bar way too high for him.
