If i hope one thing for this season, it's that Messi can play finally one year without serious injuries!

Hear, hear! If he is able to play a whole season without injurys he will surely get the award for best player in the world. And he will lead us to victory in both cl and la liga!

If he can avoid injuries he will win all the awards out there this season. And if the rest of the team can hold a decent level we can win it all.

How many times do you want him to become the best in the world??

He got all the potential to convice everyone that he is the best. He got medals and also every time when he's on the pitch on last season, everyone acknowledge his presence.

How many games did he play?? How many times he helps the team. And what happen when he's not fine( When he gets injured)????

Everyone knows how important he is and most important FIFA people and all the associates know how important he is to any team he gets involved with.

When he was with Barca we saw how he acted on the pitfch as well as when he went to present Argentina for the Gold project. His presence made Arg got GOLD.

Well let me to his closest run-up (Cristiano Ronaldo) --Honestly speaking he proved to the world that he is a crap. First his team helped him to score as many goals as he did which is good because atleast he lastly helped his team to get league and CL with the help of fate!!!!!!!!!!!

What happen when he plays with no close friend of his than Nani??? Hi showed the world that he is a crap when he even fail to score some goals or create chances for his national team (TOOOOOO BAD DEAR)

Well, I spoke many times that a really footballer is the one who helps the team on times of needs. What happen on final against CHelsea?? He is the on e who turn them down and pray for the fate!!!!

Woefull!!!!!!!!!

So sory for those who thinks that CR7 is the best. let him learn how to create goals when his team need him the most. and not by finding a far corner and then head a ball from fellow MANU players but by creatiing chances by himself.

Am proud of DECO who at least proved to everyone that because he was injured for a long thats why he didn't provide what was needed by Barca.

Any way am happy being Barca Fan.

Messi is a great player. "Best in the world" is so hard to quantify, because people often think only of attackers when they think of that status. He is definitely one of the world's best attackers.

Things I want to see from Messi this year, however, are better movement without the ball, and keeping his head up when he makes runs.

He sometimes (and the Argentina national coach also noted this) will stand around when he isn't getting the ball. Movement facilitates his getting open to get the ball. Giving him the ball on the move makes him almost unstoppable.

And when he makes an attack, he goes a bit too far sometimes, and forgets to pass. He causes such alarm when running at a defense, that other players are always open. This was a great gift that Ronaldinho had, and that Messi will develop. You could already see signs of it during the Olympics. That pass to Di Maria in the final was primo.

I think that Guardiola will be able to help Messi become not only the best attacking player in the world, but one of the best of all time.

Deco has only played two games. Just because he scored doesn't mean he played well. Several Chelsea fans noted that besides last week's game winner, he was very wasteful in possession. Which is about all I saw from the past two seasons from him.

I already consider Messi the best in the world. If he shot 130 times, I'm sure he would have 30+ goals, but that's not his game. And during the Olympics, you can see his vision and passing has really improved greatly. He has the #10 on his back now and I know that is something he will take quite seriously. If Messi does not suffer a long period of injury, there is no doubt in my mind, he will formally be the Worlds Player of the Yr in December 09, considering Ronaldo virtually has this award coming up on lock.

I find it amusing when people try to quantify a player as "best in the world". Not to sound shallow, but outside of rubbing the point in to your friends at the local pub who really cares? Shouldn't what matters most be wether Messi is able to lift Barcelona to La Liga and Champions League glory?

If he is capable of pulling off that feat then I could give a rat's ass wether he is the "best" or not, because leading his team to such heights is all the "proof" I need to see of how truly "great" a player he is.

Zidane was once considered the "greatest" in the world and what did that tag bring to Madrid? See my point.

Once messi stays fit he is the best player on the planet. He has taken the #10 from ronaldinho and with a better fitness system by pep, he will have a break-out season that will confirm he is the best in the world
