Spanish football site Air Futbol claims that Barcelona Atlètic attacking midfielder and Spanish youth international Iago Falqué (18) has been contacted by Manchester United, that wants the player to join their reserves team (read more here).
Iago thinks that he hasn't been treated correctly by Barcelona and wants to end his stay at the club (read more here). If he's given the permission to leave on a free transfer, he'll most probably join the English champions.
Asked about the rumours linking him with Manchester United, Iago said to the site that he doesn't see himself staying at Barcelona and that Manchester United is in that case an excellent option: "I consider that club to be the ideal place for me to keep on growing as a football player."
Spanish football site Join Futbol claims that sources close the the current Champions League holders have confirmed that Manchester United are currently the best placed team to sign Iago.
Barcelona site Pelikano claims that, while Barceloa Atlètic coach Luis Enrique told Iago that he doesn't count on him for next season (read more here), other people within the club are having doubts on letting the player go.
Iago's agent would have receive several offers and clubs like Real Madrid and Liverpool would be ready to pick the player up in the last days of the summer transfer window if he would be able to leave on a free transfer.

WOW, Enrique and company really botched this one up. Its fucking stupid how we are letting one of our brightest prospects go. I hope he turns into one of the best in the world and makes us look like fools.
Not so fast! Barca will not let him go on a free transfer! That would indeed be very stupid! I am very concerned with the way Barca has been treating their youngsters lately. Hope this trend stops. WTF is Luis Enrique thinking? Iago will improve with the level of competition. The more he palys against better teams the better he will get. I hope we keep him and that he gets some playing time. Otherwise we should loan him out for the year or if we sell we should insist on a buy back clause.
He sure doesn't look very happy on that pic. I see some inner rage going on there...
All I can say is Enrique must know something we don't because I simply cannot understand this move. Great, just what we need, another possible Fabregas playing for an English outfit! Fine let him go, but then don't throw millions his way in an attempt to lure him back to the club one day. If you let him go let him go for good!
At least the news isn't all that bad, it would have been far worse had he gone to Madrid and proceeded to kill us in La Liga for years to come. Now all we'll have to look forward to is Iago ripping us apart in Champions League play when/if we face United down the road. I guess when you think about it that possible scenario seems scarier than the first.
The shocking thing to me is nobody, not Txivi, not Laporta, not even Pep who knows Iago's skills intimately have (at least publicly) attempted to convince Iago to stay or at the very least tried to convince Enrique that he's making a huge mistake by allowing the lad to leave. Nobody is stepping up here and taking charge of the situation!I guess they must have reached a consensus that Iago really isn't as good as advertised? Again we'll see just how accurate an assessment that is when we face him in Champions League play in the future. Suffice it to say I'm not looking forward to that day.
WTH!!!! Dont let him go!!!
Don't let him go for free. No other club does that so why should we? Are we asking for Benzema or Adabayor for free? He haven't been in the club long enough to be given a free transfer.
Looks like Iago is Juventus property now. Terrible mistake but what can you do?
