Offer for Thiago Neves

Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims, based on statements from Fluminense officials and people from the entourage of the player, that a transfer of Fluminense left winger and Brazilian international Thiago Neves (23) is close.

Barcelona has offered Fluminense a transfer fee of 10 million euro°, which is seen as a correct price (read more here). Fluminense would nevertheless be postponing a final deal hoping that a good performance of Thiago Neves at the Olympic Games in Beijing next month will drive up the price.

Fluminense manager Renato Gaúcho said at a press conference last week that Thiago Neves has several offers from European clubs and that he thinks that the player won't return to Fluminense after the Beijing Games.

Get him now!!! We need this kind of player! I watched him on utb and he is madness... Only if we buy both Hleb and Neves than we are complete!!! Visca el Barca!!!

for that price it seems to be much more smarter to get him instead of sliva or arshavin.that guy could be a huuge success in europe.even if he wont make a break-through ,for that price i can accept it.there had been more expensive flops in the past.anybody remember hefty amounts spent for giovanni,gerard,..

10 m is a very good deal.
if ronnie goes we can get neves and silva. hleb will play as a central midfielder. 20m voor silva and 10 for neves and the ronnie millions are spend. Does make me a bit sad though

great news, this kid seems really good, and for that price could turn out to be the best signing of the season. probably wont be an instant success but good to see the board looking to buy potential. get silva, maybe henranes if sao paulo reduce asking price and the squad is complete, except for the no 9 question, can see the advantages of ade but would have to be for a lot less than 35mil

get him now and for #9 get only Aguero or keep Eto'o! forza barca

He proved to be a leader for his team and the best player in Brazil. He has enough maturity(23).Barca needs him because Barca had a goal scoring problem last year.I am sure he will be the 2nd goal scorer in the team after the pure streaker. He will be the best signing for this year.He is very gifted by his extreme ability to shoot.Remember last year what Henry ,who costed a lot, provided for the team.AND ALSO REMEMBER YAYA TOURE.
what do u think guys ????

Push hard now to get the player even if he cost 12-15 mil euros because if he wins gold with Brazil at Beijing then he will cost a lot as Arshavin.(Don't do the same mistake as in the case of Arshavin, although I am against signing him because he is 27 and we don't know if we he can adapt to Barcelona style)

I agree with most comments. We need Neves really bad and hearing and reading from what has been said about Neves, I would go so far as to even offer 15 to 17 million euros for him to make sure that we capture his services for his season before Man U and others jump on the bandwagon. Because after the Olympics, his price might will probably be already that high to start with but if Man U and other teams become interested, then I doubt we will sign him seeing how "capable" Barca's hierarchy is. These guys can't see a good buy if it walked in front of their eyes.....

Very good player but we need to buy him quickly because his value will raise after Olympics.

buy him before he travel to bejing.if he performs well, the price will increase.

Fluminense is holding out until after the Olympics in the hopes that he shows well, then the price will go hog-wild. Right now, he's a pretty good secret. Flu is crazy in citing the interest from a "lot of European teams." I think we're it, which is why they want to sit tight until after the Beijing games.
