First contacts with Robinho

Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona is holding the first talks on a possible transfer of Real Madrid left winger and Brazilian international Robinho (24).

Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola would like the qualities of Robinho a lot and Barcelona president Joan Laporta could use this kind of 'big media impact' transfer with a general assembly that will decide on his future coming up in a few months time.

Barcelona plans to push hard for Robinho and intermediaries have already contacted the entourage of the Brazilian winger, who has a buyout clause of 150 million euro° and is also followed by Chelsea.

Robinho would prefer to leave Madrid this summer since he doesn't really fit in the plans of Real Madrid manager Bernd Schuster for next season. Real Madrid president Ramón Calderón would already have been informed about the Barcelona interest.

Asked about the rumours linking the player with Barcelona, Robinho's agent Wagner Ribeiro said to the paper that many clubs are interested but that it's unlikely the player will leave this summer: "Robinho has a contract with Real Madrid, so he's not looking for another club. It's logical that a club like Barcelona is interested in Robinho. Chelsea and Manchester United also want him. Chelsea even made a big offer for Robinho, but Real Madrid apparently doesn't want to sell him."

Haha, this is a shit rumour. But if it's true, Laporta is crazy. He really shouldn't start a "war" with los putos. That will harm the club.

I read fergie wants to sell cristiano but not to madrid.
So 45 m and we have the best left winger we can get. He has the streangth barça needs. This would be a bargain. sell eto'o or henry and we've got the cash. there's no need for more transfers. he can head the alves centers in!
next year aguero or benzema!backed up by bojan.
It's worth a try. Laporta would get his credit back i think. I think such a deal is possible

I would love Robinho at Barca. Robinho on the left and Messi on the right? crazy combo. But honestly, what he did for Madrid for most of the season was as important as what C Ronaldo did for Man Utd.

i think robinho is a very good player who could be a good assett to the club but i don't like the fact he's from madrid, unless he scores hat-trick in el classico! probably cost too much

Actually Calderon and Laporta have an agreement not to bid on each others players during their terms i beleive. So it wud be interesting to see if this actually turns out to be true as it could cause a serious rift in their freindship.
I dano is it just me or is robinho just a tad overrated.
lol its possible my anti madridista bias is speakin out.

Why not taking him they took Figo from us , also the crap saviola and Schuster . But we dont have to be crap like them it will bring disharmony to the real blaugrana players. Barca is a team with attitude and values so no need to go for him.

This would be one great signing! Robinho plays hard every game!! One of my favorite players, all he needs is to not be on a team like madrid and come to where he belongs! BARCA! GET ROBINHO! ive said it from day one of transfer season!

i've always thought Robinho was more of a Barça player than a Madrid player, stylistically speaking. he would be a force on the left wing.

that said, however, i'm not sure how he's a better option than Arshavin if we're looking for a winger, considering he'll cost us twice to three times as much. couple that with the inevitable drama that would result from us taking one of Real's players, and i just don't think Robinho is worth it.

I'm struggling with the same anti bias as others. On paper, aside from his very obvious expense, Robinho would bring an impressive dimension to our attack (I can't believe I'm typing this about a player from That Place).

He is one of the best lefties in the world. He's also a crybaby, and he is expensive. But as expensive as he would be, he'd be cheaper than one C. Ronaldo.

Everyone is discounting it because of the nonaggression pact between Laporta and Calderon. But are people acting as if Laporta is already gone, so is that pact kicked to the curb now?

He would bring an explosive element to the attack, for sure. But are we running into Galactico complexities? Henry, Messi, Robinho, Alves. Xavi isn't Galactico in the mercenary sense, but he's definitely a for-real star. And what about Hleb if this thing happens?

Too many questions.

This must be an early sign that the apocalypse is near. Robinho's half the player Ronnie was at his prime yet his pricetag is at least double the price. And then there's this "little" thing about him currently playing for Real Madrid. That would be like Chicago Bears trying to trade for Brett Favre from Green Bay. There are just certain unwritten rules that clubs/teams do not cross and this is one of them. I would rather drink a whole bottle of Drano than see Robinho wearing the blaugrana!
And if Robinho's pricetag is going to be around the same ballpark as Aguero's I'd rather take Aguero hands down! Not that I feel that either of them is necessarily required at the club mind you.

what sort of figure is being banded around for him, does anyone know? if around 25 i'd take him over arsharvin as he is proven in la liga, and not a risk, if over 30 mil i'd rather spend the extra and get aguero, although hasn't he just come out today an said that he wants to stay at atletico next year? another condition is that i would only want robinho if madrid still wanted, a madrid reject would not merit wearing the shirt. it would be nice to 'do a figo' back at them, sod the 'war' that may ensue, we shouldn't be on good terms with the facist bastards anyway

i havent even thought about the possibility getting him as he is playing for THEM.but if there is a real chance to get him without any disruption,i would loove to see him in barca´s kit.THEY probably want aweful lot of money for him,but i think he could be worth it.THEY could finance ronaldo´s move and we could have 2 possibly future players of the year on the team.i think robinho in barca could be better success than ronaldo in THAT CITY..

Cojonudo, I'm from Chicago. Favre's name has come up, believe you me. You must have seen Grossman play. A combo platter of Gudjohnsen and Ezquerro. Bad.

Robinho isn't cheap. Which makes it not that good a deal. If he could be had for what we sold Ronaldinho for, and he was okay without constant first-team football, and maybe went to another club before coming to the Nou Camp, yes.

I just can't bring myself to advocate a direct swap.
