Asked about the rumours that Palmeiras central defender and Brazilian international Henrique Adriano Buss (21) is on the verge of becoming a Barcelona player (read more here), Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain has said at a press conference yesterday that the transfer is close but should still be finalized:
"We're working on it but Henrique isn't a done deal yet. The negotations are very well-advanced but it's not signed yet although we're very close to a final agreement. The plan is to transfer him and to loan him then out to another European club but nothing is sure yet."
Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that the Brazilian defender is the next player on the transfer list and that the transfer and the loan deal should finally be closed in the coming days.
In a reaction to Brazilian sports paper Lance, Henrique says that he's preparing to travel to Barcelona this weekend. The paper claims that the official presentation of Henrique should take place next Monday.

Barcalona does not need anymore defender all we are going to see is a bunch of defenders on the beanch... we need a striker who can score goals because that all Barcalona lacks is finishing... if Barcalona could of got the balls in the back of the net i think the season would have been saved and FC Barcalona would be a feared team in Europe
Jeez, I know we needed sorting at the back, but another one? Really?
Why are we getting another defender? Especially a mid-to-low quality one like Henrique? It's just 8 million down the drain, which could've been invested in a quality finisher.
MADNESS!!!
Those of you who keep whining like little schoolgirls over this transfer don't seem to get the big picture. Barcelona are going to do with Henrique what Real Madrid is doing with Garay, that is stash him away for a year or two, let him gain valuable experience and regular playing time - and by that time he'll be able to replace Puyol or Milito in the lineup. He is young, versatile and is only going to continue getting better. For the price Barcelona paid for him it's a STEAL!! In two years time, when he makes first team football you guys will be looking back on this thinking how foolish you were to question the move.
