Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona playmaker and Brazilian international Ronaldinho (28) will arrive at the El Prat airport of Barcelona around 1 pm local time today together with his brother and agent Roberto de Assis.
It is expected that the two will have a decisive meeting this afternoon with Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain in the Barcelona offices at the Camp Nou. A transfer to either Manchester City or Milan could be closed today.
Because Ronaldinho desperately wants to participate in the Olympic Games next month, while Milan had planned to wait until the end of August to make their final move, the Brazilian would now be ready to accept the offer made by English Premier League club Manchester City (read more here).
With the strategy of his club apparently falling apart, Milan vice president Adriano Galliani is expected to travel to Barcelona today (or tomorrow) to offer Barcelona a new bid of 20 million euro°.
Although that is lower than the offer of Manchester City, Barcelona could be willing to accept the offer of Milan because the club wants Ronaldinho to leave in a positive way and is therefore ready to respect the preference of the player.
If in the end no agreement will be found, new Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola will have to decide if he lets Ronaldinho take part in the pre-season training sessions.
Milan transfer adviser Ernesto Bronzetti said yesterday in an interview with Italian reginal television channel Telelombardia that Ronaldinho still prefers to join Milan: "I spoke half an hour ago with Ronaldinho, when he was getting ready to travel from Porto Alegre to Barcelona, and he told me one thing: 'I want to come to Milan'."
Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Ronaldinho will stay in Brazil until everything has been sorted out. Roberto would fly to Barcelona alone to start the final negotiations.
British tabloid The Daily Mail claims that Manchester City yesterday emailed Barcelona a 27,5 million euro° bid. The ambitious bid is City's way of proving how serious they are about bringing in Ronaldinho. Their pay-as-you-play salary offer is being supported by at least one major sponsor, with Nike prepared to back the deal.
Deal insiders say that Milan must still remain favourites, but City are refusing to give up the chase. A source close to the deal is quoted as saying: "They are refusing to be bullied out of it by Milan. You have to admire their daring and their audacity. They still have hope that this could be possible."
City has already promised Ronaldinho the number 10 shirt, which fits in with his R10 range with major sponsors, Nike, who would pay an additional sum for bringing the player to England.

I think Barca are making a big mistake by letting him go. messi wants him to stay and i would do everything in my power to keep my star player happy cause in 2-3 years he is off to Inter.
Ac Milan don't have the money to buy ronaldinho. Barca should ask for Yoann Gourcuff in the deal too.
I feel pretty certain that if Milan make a concrete offer of 20mil that Barcelona will relent and accept Milan's offer and respect the player's wishes. For all 'Dinho's brought to the club I'm sure Barcelona wouldn't be opposed to receiving SLIGHTLY less than their asking price for him to afford 'Dinho the opportunity to leave out the front door. However anything short of that figure (20mil) and Barcelona are well within their right to transfer 'Dinho to Man City instead.
