Ronaldinho on his way to Manchester City

Catalan television station TV3 claims that Ronaldinho has accepted the offer of English Premier League club Manchester City.

Roberto de Assis, the brother and agent of Ronaldinho, would be negotiating the last details of the transfer that could be closed in the next hours. Ronaldinho and his entourage are tired of waiting for AC Milan.

Barcelona will accept the formal offer of 32 million euro° made by Manchester City and would now have given AC Milan between 24 and 48 hours to made an equal or better offer.

Spanish news agency EFE claims that Ronaldinho will arrive tomorrow in Barcelona, something that has been agreed upon after talks between the player and the club.

If the deal with Manchester City (or Milan) wouldn't go through in the end, Ronaldinho, whose contract expires in 2010, would join the pre-season training sessions under new Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola.

British tabloid News of the World claimed earlier today that Manchester City is growing increasingly confident they can sign Ronaldinho, who they would be willing to offer a record salary of 12,5 million euro.

This weekend several papers said that the refusal of Barcelona to let Ronaldinho participate in the Olympic games could lead to a clash between the player and the club. Ronaldinho would not be willing to report back for training on Monday.

Brazilian newspaper O Globo claimed that the entourage of Ronaldinho would be considering to use Article 17 of the Fifa transfer regulations and buy out the remaining two years of his current contract.

The best option for Ronnie's replacement is either Hernanes or Thiago Neves.

I'd like to get Thiago Neves if he actually does leave. Hernanes is good but overpriced at 25 million.

Please god, make it happen. 32 million for Ronaldinho would be wonderful!

This blog said he was going to AC Milan, then City, then Milan, now City again...I'm not believing anything about Ronnie until it's all said and done with.

This blog doesn't say anything, this blog just reproduces stories that are published by other news sources.

And of course nothing is sur until both teams that are concerned have made an official statement.

I agree. You can't believe much of anything these days in the transfer market. Tomorrow we'll hear that Ronnie's on his way to Chelsea, etc. But you don't need to be a math major to understand the different between 15mil vs. 32mil. If this is true you can forget about Laporta stepping down "gracefully", he should instead be arrested on the spot for committing grand larceny.

thiago neves or david silva to replace ronnie. With the new money, Adebayor is a must but if he goes to milan. Then Villa or Berbatov.

Barcelona should have signed Jo who signed for Man City.He will be the best striker in the world. We should try young talents:Look at Adebayor with Arsenal,Pato with Milan,Aguirre with Atletico.
Please sign T.Neves because we will lose him to a major European rival.
If not neves, sign ribery. But a strong striker like Adebayor or Berbatov is a MUST to get titles.

Um....hang on there, folks. TV3 is essentially a mouthpiece for our club. It would shock me if Ronaldinho agreed to join Citeh. Either way he isn't playing Champions League football next season, but he'd have a better shot at it next season by going to Milan.

Italian papers are rubbishing the rumor, claiming it's just a ploy to drive his Milan price up.

Ronaldinho and his brother have been rather silly throughout this whole thing. This is just the latest example. I won't believe anything until it is announced by a club. I won't even believe anything the Ronaldinho camp says.

As for the names being bandied about as his replacement, the only one on that list worth considering is Neves. The rest just add to our array of talented midgets, including Aguero.

And the commment about a strong striker is right on. Berbatov queer? I wouldn't care if he pulled a float in gay pride parades with his teeth then danced naked on top of it if we signed him, as long as he got us through Champions League.

But you prove my point, "Anonymous." Aguero is 5'7". He'd come up to Rio Ferdinand's breastbone when attacking the Man U box. We have lots of short players with great ball skills. What's the value of another one, really?

Now he is trendy, one of those names that people think is the answer to a prayer. And let's assume for an instant that Guardiola is mad enough to acquire yet another player of the type that we already have so many of. Where does he play? Oh, yes. People seem to believe that he's a forward. Please. I'd rather keep Eto'o, which I suppose does in fact make me a fool.

Think about what's best for the club.

By the by, Neves is almost 6 feet tall, and he isn't a forward, which makes his height less relevant than Aguero's.
