First game against Numancia

Numancia-Barcelona, that will be the first league test of the new Barcelona in the weekend of 30-31 August. Numancia got promoted to the Primera Division two months ago.

See the whole calendar here

pep's opinion:
i have to say that there's something really bothering me about this calendar, namely that madrid plays every week against the team that we have played against the week before. i think it's physically and mentally very difficult for most teams to be on top of their game two weeks in a row. and this looks more and more like a strategy. two years ago, madrid played against teams who played sevilla the week before, last season their opponents played valencia seven days earlier.

Looking at the schedule overall Barcelona should be able to get off to a good start, and they'll need to because they have two rough stretches in their schedule: Weeks 12-16 (below) and as the poster mentioned above Weeks 31-35 (at the bottom.) So the team's fitness and health will be critical down the stretch!

22/23 Nov Barcelona/Getafe
29/30 Nov Sevilla/Barcelona
6/7 Dec Barcelona/Valencia
13/14 Dec Barcelona/Real Madrid
20/21 Dec Villarreal/Barcelona

------------------

18/19 Apr Getafe/Barcelona
21-23 Apr Barcelona/Sevilla
25/26 Apr Valencia/Barcelona
2/3May Real Madrid/Barcelona
9/10 May Barcelona/Villarreal

I noticed that every team we play faces Real Madrid after us. So all of them will have FC Barcelona following Real Madrid in their schedules.

What are your thoughts on that?

what are the chances of the Champions league games being after teams have played us but before playing madrid? good to have the association on your side!!
