Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that if Zaragoza forward and Spanish international Sergio García (24) is sold this summer, Barcelona will receive 20 per cent of the transfer fee. When Barcelona sold the striker to Zaragoza in the summer of 2005 this was included in the deal.
It is expected that Zaragoza, who were relegated to the Segunda División this season, is willing to sell the player. The club is at this moment holding on to the buyout clause of 18 million euro°.
The player's agent, 'Mágico' Díaz, met last Thursday with Tottenaham officials. Tottenham manager Juande Ramos would be intersted in bringing Sergio García to the Premier League. Liverpool and several Primera División teams would be following the Barcelona youth product. Barcelona has also been linked with the player (read more here).

Does this mean that if we buy him we will pay 20% less? I prefer him over Güiza every day of the week and as a reserve behind Henry, (Eto'o) and Bojan I think he would do a great job.
Guess that would be the logic thing, so if we would buy him and Zaragoza holds on to the buyout clause, that would mean he would cost us 14,4 million euro.
If he's sold to another club we get 3,6 million euro. If Zaragoza hold on to the 18 million euro, that is. But I honestly cannot see a team pay that for him. Guess he could be worth something of 10 million euro.
I agree with Pep. I seriously doubt Zaragoza can expect to get 18mil for him. I suppose I wouldn't mind having him coming off the bench as a sub, but I wouldn't pay more than around 10mil for him. Then again with the prospect of getting limited playing time would Garcia realy want to come to Barcelona because it could stunt his development and he might find better opportunities (more playing time) at another club. I would also prefer having someone with a little more experience coming off the bench as a substitute striker. Garcia still has a lot to learn and a lot of developing to do. He needs playing time to improve and unless there is a dramatic reshuffling upfront I don't see him getting quality minutes with the club. Maybe they might consider converting him into a winger? Just a thought.
