New Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola would strongly favour the Pirlo option. The Italian midfielder could be included in a deal on the transfer of Barcelona forward Samuel Eto'o.

I can't understand constant push for Pirlo, Hleb and Mancini. What kind of formation Guardiola prefers? 4-6-0 or 5-5-0? Barca is weeping for a left winger, and it would be great to stop wasting money for nonsense buyout fees as Keita's. Pirlo is 29 so that's one of the reasons to buy someone else.
I don't get it, Pirlo and Hleb are totally different players. Pirlo is a player playing from deep, and Hleb is far more offensive.
I agree with the comment above, this article doesnt actually make any sense, they are two completely different players! Maybe Mancini instead of Hleb, but even then they are not really the same. I dont see why we want Hleb anyways, he aint all that and we dont really need another midfielder ala Iniesta/Xavi. If we get another mid it should be Moutinho or Van Der Vaart. More important than a midfield player is a left winger so we need to concentrate our efforts on Silva who would be the final piece of the puzzle. KEEP ETO'O!!!!
With Pirlo it would be transforming Barcas attacking minded filosophy to very defensive and boring formation.
---------Pirlo
----Yaya------Xavi
Please, NO!
There is need for one more midfielder besides Iniesta and Xavi.Silva+Mancini-good, Silva+Moutinho-GREAT!
I'm not surprised to see Pirlo's name mentioned. Even if Milan are serious about pursuing Eto'o there's no way I could ever envision them paying 30+mil for him. So they are trying to be "creative" by offering Pirlo in the deal to substantially lower the price. I have two objections to this...1)When and if Eto'o gets transferred it should be for straight up cash only! (unless you were to get a player like Diego or Benzema in return which ain't happening!)...2)Barcelona needs a creative, attacking midfielder in the worst way and I would much rather prefer someone like Diego, and to a lesser degree Moutinho or Van De Vaart instead.
