barca made some good transfers this year but what i'm worried about is that barca is intending to sell players for very cheap prices. they good have sold dos santos for more than 6 + 5 millions. And they are trying to sell deco for just 10 millions something around that. that is ridiciolus. And they bought keita for 14 millions. anyway Visca el Barca :d. Add villa to the squad and maybe a good winger and its done for the season expect some more sellings.
on the other hand we have received already 15 million euro (and possibly 22), that's already the best laporta summer ever when it comes down to revenues...
I wouldn't worry too much about the low transfer fees. We're over a barrel in those cases, so the question becomes do we want to keep the player, or get at least something for them? The risk was losing Dos Santos on a free transfer, which is unacceptable. We actually did a pretty good deal, where we got money for him and retained 20% of his rights. So if he blows up huge and gets a mega-deal, we still get paid. Slick.
Zambrotta was gone anyway. We got what we could for him, and frankly, about what he's worth right now, given that he's on the back side of the player half-life slope. That was a solid deal, as well.
Some might think that we overpaid for Alves, but I believe after a season, people will be calling him a bargain. He's spectacular.
Deco is another example of teams having us over a barrel. We want him gone, they know we want him gone, and he wants to be gone. The question becomes, what can you get for him? He'll go for more than 10 million (Pounds OR Euros), for sure, but it won't be a bank-breaker.
We'll keep Ronaldinho rather than sell him for cheap. Same for Eto'o, but the latter will command some real money, something in the 30 million Euro range.
Keita will be another bargain. At 14 million, for what he does in the context of what we do....stand back. He and Yaya are going to have the midfield on lockdown, which will make Xavi a lot more effective, as we've seen him in the Spain Euro matches. Can't wait.
We're doing okay this summer.
All I can say is thank god we wrapped up the deal of Zambrotta with Milan BEFORE the Euros because so far he's looking terrible! That's two subpar games for him in a row! I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't start against France in a must win game. He may have made some decent crosses and runs down the field, but his clearance off the free kick could have bounced Italy right out of the tournament!
