Barcelona president visits India

Barcelona president Joan Laporta and a delegation from the club travelled to India this week. On Thursday, Laporta inaugurated a XICS centre in Bathalapalli, the first one of this solidarity centres, an international project supported by Barcelona, in Asia (read more here). Yesterday, Laporta laid the first stone of the second XICS centre in the town of Atmakur (read more here).

During his stay in India, Laporta talked with two of the country's main newspapers: The Times of India ("It's our contribution to the social integration of some of the most disadvantaged children. We're using football as a tool to better the lives of the less fortunate") and The Hindu ("Typical of our fiercely independent Catalonian psyche, we don’t speculate but ensure ball control").
