I would like to comment about the Copa del Rey match in which Lionel Messi stole the show for Barca against Atletico. That was a tremendous performance and a good way for Messi to start the year.
I wish to see 2009 as Messi's breakthrough year. I hope he and Barca can go on to win at every front (La Liga, Champions League and Copa del Rey).
Then people would start to talk more about Messi and less about C.Ronaldo.

Messi is already better than the Ronaldo, or should I say "the unoriginal" Ronaldo, because there really is only one Ronaldo, and we all know who he is.
With the dominating performance on Tuesday against Atletico, I believe that Messi is about to reach another level compared the level he has been playing in the first part of the season. He was simply on another planet two nights ago and if he can build on that, then we will see an upgraded version of Messi in the second part of the season. Also, if you notice the way he played in the first 15 minutes of the game you'll see that his passing and vision still need a lot of refining. For instance, he always chooses to pass the ball to the other two forwards instead of dropping the ball back to the midfielders behind him. If Messi can improve simple things like that, then he will become an even better team player, thus improving his game even more.
Messi is already from another planet and he is only 21 years.
So we will have many seasons of marvelous performances.
It can no doubt be his season, becuase all the team is playing great, and it is easily to perform better when the others 10 on the field are very good.
