British tabloid The Daily Mail claims that Barcelona attacker and Iceland international Eidur Gudjohnsen (29) has rejected the chance to return to London after turning down a 6,5 million euro° bid by English Premier League club West Ham (read more here).

Despite a disappointing stay at Barcelona since he joined the club in the summer of 2006 arriving from Chelsea, Gudjohnsen now believes that he will have more first-team opportunities next season and wants to win something with Barcelona.

Leave already Gudjohnsen!!!! You are a disappointment in every way and do not deserve to put on the Barcelona jersey.

Excuse yourself from this blog whoever you are....He's my favorite player and like i said before if you don't play a player where he's most dangerous you can't expect the same produce from him. Guddy is a Class-man and him determined to stay to show his true form should let you know he doesn't feel he's been untilized enough for him to really tap into what he can offer the club. He's definetly not the reason we haven't won in two years, so why all the hostility..Do your thing Guddy...

He is by far the worst player we've had for years. Comparable to the like of Maxi and Zenden.

Barca is a laughing-stock, every time is plays.

Leave, the sooner the better.

How can you say he's the worse? What's the basis of this claim, he scored when given a chance and plays where he's old..oleguer is real shit, dos santos was over-hyped (secret weapon) henry fell short of expectations like what's your claim, none of the signings of recent were stellar, and I don't even think you watched a lot or enough games to call him the worse anything on barcelona...

Sorry, cbr_boss, but I'm with the others here. Guddie has to leave. He just doesn't have the skills to cut in the Liga. He's a 'tweener, in that he isn't really a forward and isn't really a midfielder.

Yes, he gives his all when he's out on the pitch, but if your all isn't good enough, and a team tells you that you can move on, I'm not sure why you dig your heels in.

The way our midfield sits now (Hleb, Xavi, Iniesta, Keita, Yaya) I can't ever see Gudjohnsen getting off the bench except in early-round Copa matches. Surely he has more professional pride than that.

Clearly he wants to stay and if you ask me, ppl who give their all on the pitch was what we needed dearly last season, I'll never be like other ppl who come on and try to diss others with contrary beliefs this blog and all blogs were set up for that purpose for debate, my opinion is that he's a solid player who gives his all for his team and he's my favorite player on the team soley because of that fact. He wants to stay and prove his-self clearly he thinks he can be better. his pride will be shown on the pitch.

i agree with cbr boss, he is a good player who i admire but part of me thinks that he would do better for himself if he did move back to the premiership where he is proven class, but if he is determined to prove himself i think he should have the chance to prove his critics wrong, hopefully he will and this lot will then start singing his praises!

I do admire Guddy's show of professionalism throughout his tenure with the club. He isn't seem as a disruptive force in the locker room and he hasn't openly complained to the press about a lack of playing time and opportunities.

That said I won't feel any sympathy for him if he chooses to remain with the club because they have made it quite clear for the past two years that he is not viewed as part of their plans and should look for regular playing time elsewhere.

If he wishes to stay Barcelona will do the same as last year and keep him. But his show of "loyalty" isn't going to make Pep do an about face and reconsider what he thinks of him as a player and his role with the club.

Guddy is class. He has not been given the support. I hope he gets it with pep.G. He is really committed and not a poor footballer by any standard. At least he can shoot a ball. while some people cant shoot the ball outside the box even to save their lives.
If he wants to stay and prove a point, why not, even if its in the copa. If he gets the goals and assists in the copa, am sure the caoch would give him a chance in the liga. enuf said

I'm just glad I'm not alone in my opinion...least all have barca in agreement....

I think both sides are saying the same thing..he is never going to get ENOUGH playing time beacuse he is good, but not at the Barca level (and that has been proven time and again)..and since he will never get enough playing time, he will never be at his best....That's why for the good of BOTH sides Barca have decided he should leave and I think they are correct..I completely agree with him being a professional and having passion for the cause...but he is just not good enough when asked for....

But my question to that is, who in the last 2years have done what we've asked? No one..ronnie was out partying and going to trainings when he felt like, deco said himself he was un-inspired for sometime now, henry hasn't lived up to anything near what we anticipated, samuel was more worried about what the crowd was yelling then what the scoreboard whispered. Only one that even broke into the limelight fighting for his props was bojan, so how comes guddy has to go based on what he proved on the pitch? Its all abit biased no he's not the best in our colors but he does strive to be.. And wants to stay to see it thru my only wish is that you guys let him do his thing.

He needs to be sold. sorry thats the plain truth. We relly dont need some one who is in the a player who plays in midfield, but in reality is a forward who is not suited to be one for barca.

I feel like he's too comfortable sitting on the bench at Barca. I mean, if you are given an opportunity to play first team football a decent EPL club and you're about to turn 30, why not take it? I admire his professionalism and all that good stuff but this is the 2nd year he has been given the opportunity to leave yet he still wants to "prove himself" or whatever. If it is time to go then it is time to go. No need to look foolish and hang on to the club when they make it clear you are not needed. He can at least have some pride.

If the no 9 that Pep wants comes I think he has no place. But if Eto'o stays and is not wanted by Pep then he may be used as a third striker. I doubt whether he will get the chance to prove himself.

Gudjohsen has been disappointing since the day he arrived. Looking like a lumber-jack compared to his technical team-mates, running around and missing tap-ins. He must go already!!! So should Valdes, ok he's supposed to be the catalan answer to Casillas but V. isn't even close to his skills. Although it now seems unlikely some proper competition for Valdes would be more than welcomed.

...anybody who can see anything good in his play should change the game!!!!...worsest player in la liga and surely on this planet...with him barca plays with 10 against 12!!!!!...hope barca do best and kick him out of the club through the backdoor like he deserves it...12millions!!!!!...biggest flop in barcas history or since man play football!!!!!...BARCA FOREVER,hombres...hopefully without guddy!!!!!
