With Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola being a keen admirer of the striker, British tabloid The Sun claims that Barcelona is ready to move for Tottenham forward and Bulgarian international Dimitar Berbatov (27) once Samuel Eto'o has left the club.
Tottenham would be willing to negotiate a transfer of Berbatov to Barcelona and is ready to let the player go for 30 million euro°, while initially asking 37,5 million euro° to Manchester United.
Tottenham prefers that Berbatov leaves for a club that doesn't participate in the English Premier League.

WHY BERBA WHEN HE IS UNTESTED AND WUD PROBABLY NEED SOME ADJUSTMENT PERIOD ETO'O IS GOOD ENUF AND WE CAN WAIT FOR BENZEMA NEXT SEASON...
Agree with "blaugrana-till-i-die". Barca must focus only on aguero, benzema, fabregas and silva. One or two transfers per season will be enought, considering the players skills and price.
We don't need any more midgets in our team. We already have an army of midgets. We require a tall aggressive striker like Berba or Drogba. Seems now there are rumours that even Ade might be available. There were also talks of Trezeguet being available.. wonder what the Barca board is thinking.
I can't believe we actually look for him.Mutu is about half the price and three times better, why not buy him ??
as i've said before berbatov id too lazy, i don't think he would suit being a lone front man, he is not that physical in the way of drogba or ade, or as much of an aerial threat so i don't see why he is being considered. yes he's skillful but he is also slow, won't be happy if this comes true. they should get pavyluchenko for much cheaper and splash out on aguero or silva so laporta can have his superstar signing.
you tal about silva like he is a player like ronnie or messi. WAKE UP, THE MAN SCORES 3 GOALS A SEASON AND DELIVERS 2 ASSISTS
benzema torres or el kun!
henry and bojan is enough for the period inbetween
your basing all this on one season with a club that under performed in practicaly every game. i don't think he will ever be as good as messi or ronaldinho in his prime but if you compare him to ronaldinho last season who was the better player? i'd prefer them to get aguero as he is gonna be the only player close to be a good as messi for the next 8 years, but if he is unavailable then silva is about the only suitable replacement that can slot into the team and perform straight away. ideally i would like barca to buy ryan babel as he could fill the left wing and centre forwards position as needs must but i doubt liverpool are wiling to sell him
I've got to back Berbatov here, he is the only signing for the forward position who is reasonably available that I'd take if we miss out on Adebayor.
For one, I dont actually think he's lazy, but does anyone think that his diva attitude would come with him to Barca? At Spurs he knows he's the man, at Barca he'll be fighting for a regular place.
The guy is SO intelligent, Messi would bounce of him so well, not to mention he scores goals in the Premiership, he finds a away, and is a big match player.
Drogba, great player, but not a investment for the short-term future, Trez...who?, this man will make Barca a total delight to watch, and what he'll provide in assists + goals will probably equal the amount of goals that any other striker could score.
We can cut a good deal with Spurs, for me, it's a great option.
If Barcelona are unable to secure the services of Drobga or Adebayor they should invest in a "stop gap" option such as Pavlyuchenko for now and revisit talks over Benzema next summer. Even if Aulas maintains his tough stance that he will not sell there is always the possibility that Benzema may push for a move next year in order to further his development in a tougher league. If Benzema's adamant that his time has come at Lyon, Aulas may be "forced" to be more receptive to any offers coming in to the club. Aulas is no idiot, he knows that it's only a matter of time before a player of Benzema's class moves on to a bigger club.
