Eto'o agent doesn't exclude continuation

Asked about the situation of Barcelona forward and Cameroonian international Samuel Eto'o (27) (read more here), the player's agent José María Mesalles has said in an interview with Catalan sports paper Sport that he doesn't exclude that the Cameroonian in the end will stay in Barcelona:

"One cannot exclude that Eto'o continues in Barcelona next season. If there are no good offers, we're staying. At this moment we have several offers but they didn't convince us for different reasons. And it's not just an economical thing.
This is a negotiation with several parties involved, so maybe we won't close a deal because Barcelona is asking too much. In any case, we're totally working together with the club to find a new club, but if we don't find one, the remaining option is that everything stays the way it is."

Well, my post first... :)
Enough joking, I really hope Eto'o will stay. There's no need to buy another 30 yo player like last season. Maybe Eto'o has been out of form a year, year and half but I think he'll regain his form during this summer. Guardiola and board must not gave up on Barca's best players so easily. He became true Barca brand so another contract must be given to him. Juventus never gave up on Del Piero and if anyone remember before 5-6 years ago he had a season scoring less than 10 goals!

Eto'o will stay and after that season, we will be grateful for that.

I don't think we'll be grateful. I think this space will pulsate with rage that we had to sell him for about 10 million Euros rather than losing him on free transfer.

It's shameful that he and Gudjohnsen are digging in their heels and staying where they aren't wanted. And his agent's comment about our price being too high is absurd. I'm beginning to wonder if other teams know something that we don't. If Eto'o is as great as everyone believes, offers should have come flooding in, right?

he is a great striker. but injuries aren't doing him well. His character is nog good. But do you like henry's character? It is even worse! he does not work as hard, believes himself as a god. Or drogba who is anything but loyal to the club who gave him a big chance. Same thing with adebayor. No their personality is even worse than eto'o. Who is loyal to the club and gives everything every game..

To the comment from Jordy....

If Eto'o was as "loyal" as you say he wouldn't have intentionally (perceived) missed 'el classico' last season because he didn't wan't to form part of the "Guard of Honor" instead he sat back at home in his favorite chair as his fellow teammates had to suffer the humiliation.

If Eto'o was "loyal" he wouldn't make comments "threatening" to leave the club in the middle of their Champions League leg no less - by stating that if the club isn't commitment to winning silverware he will go elsewhere.

As far as Henry' level of "commitment" the fact that he played out of position for most of last season, (and yes griped about it) but never came out and "challenged" Rijkaard directly nor "refused" to play out of position speaks volumes! Henry played where he was told to play. Not like Eto'o who refused to come in as a sub in a previous game because he didn't "feel" like it!

I love Eto'o as a player! He is still my current favorite Barca player. But calling him a "loyalist" is like calling the kettle black!
