Chygrynskiy on his way

Sport is reporting that a deal is all but done between FC Barcelona and Shakhtar Donetsk for the transfer of Dmytro Chygrynskiy. According to the Catalan sports newspaper the deal will be sealed in the next day, with Barca paying an above-market rate of 25 million euros for the defender.

The price is necessarily high due to the combination of a long-held affection for the player by Shakhtar executives and the fact that Barca coach Pep Guardiola has insisted that his team acquire him, labeling the 22 year-old "essential" to the team's plans.

Guardiola dismisses concerns that Chygrynskiy cannot play in the Champions League this year as a result of his appearances for Shakhtar earlier this summer. Given that Barca faces a schedule of up to 48 games outside of the Champions League, there will be plenty of time on the pitch for the new acquisition.

In order to offset the high transfer cost, Barca would look to Chygrynskiy to accept a lower salary than he currently makes in Ukraine. However, with incentives he could end up making more money wearing the blaugrana.
According to Sport, the deal could be consummated in the next few hours, with the player being introduced in Barcelona as early as Saturday.

It seems like an obsession to Pep...paying 25M from back-up defender sounds quite bad to me.Or he rotates regularly with Pique or Puyol

I'm over the money. We got it. If you want quality against another teams wishes then obviously you have to pay a premium. PAY THE MAN HIS MONEY and be done with it.

What the hell are we gonna do with Cacares and Henrique next year when they come back from their loanteams? Sell with alot of loss considering their purchaseprice? I really dont get this fixation on this guy.

does this mean all over for fontas and muniesa? be prepared to see more youth products leave us now

Haha do you know how young those kids are??? The reason we getting Chignasty is because there is no need to put that much pressure on the cantera. If we allow the young guns to properly develop...well you all know the results of that. The fact is the new breed of cantera products are all way to young. The only one over 21 I think is pedro

could someone tell why Pep insist on Chrgynskiy, though i think it's overprice

So is Puyol gone? Will it be
Puyol/pique-Marquez-Chrgynskiy?

Puyol/Pique-Chyhrynskiy/Marquez

I hope this transfer won't go through !

When muniesa and fontas will grow enough to play in first team regulary marquez and puyol will be gone from here:(
We need to start thinking about new yound defense core. Each year searching for new puyol and maquez.
We have pique who is amazing.
We have 2 potential candidates in muniesa fontas (and i think one of them will be good enough to play for us for a long time) and we have to players who did not convince pep (caceres and henrique). Imho we need young defender and dmitro is really young for a defender.
So there is logic in that transfer.
The question is about the money. Isn't it too much?

But let's wait till it's oficial (now only sport writes about it) and then wait to see him on a field.
Pep thinks he is great. I belive in Pep.

Is Chygrynskiy really strenghtening our defence?? After what i´ve read he is a bit slow too.. I mean,25 mill euro is a LOT OF MONEY! There should be other options: Naldo, Kompany, Pablo of Atletico,Marchena and so on.... Albiol was bought for half the price!

Kompany, Pablo, Marchena? None of those are good enough and Pep wants players who can start the attack from the back. Kompany is the only one who could do that from those three, but his defensive play is too sloppy. I don't know about Naldo. Albiol was bought for 15m euros, he is pretty good, and is proven in La Liga and for the Spanish national team. It is ridiculous that we pay more for Chygrynskiy than what Albiol went for.

Have a look at this interesting article. It says he's the Ukrainian Beckenbauer :O

To all of you who feels he is not worth the money, and that includes me, you and I need to chill a bit.

Yes, the price is over-board considering that we can't even get decent prices for any of our out-going players BUT it's done. We'll just have to accept him and see if Pep's faith in him is well founded. I, for one, doubt it but who am I to criticise the selection of a triplet-winning coach.

Yes, I guess you are right buj. The deal is basically done, so now we have to support him. We can't complain. Hopefully, he is the new Beckenbauer.

At least, he seems to have two good characteristics, he is great in the air, and he has good passing. Maybe he is not better than Marquez or maybe he is much worse than Marquez, but we have to support him now, he is our player.

Lol, I remember when we got Marquez for about 5 Millon. Chygrynskiy is not even 1/3 of the player that Marquez is, yet we pay 22 million. Boy do times change.

If he does NOT play against us in Friday's Supercup it could mean that a deal was already reached . Let's wait and see !!

zos said...

we already have Piquenbauer now we get Chygrynbauer.... enough... i hope that means marquez is leaving next year otherwise we will ruin our cantera.... or they will leave for arsenal:(

p.s I like marquez but for the good of muniesa and fontas he should go...

Anonymous said...

I really hope this guy will be good. I am a little concerned about his lack of speed

No team gives the youth players as many chances as us, so there are no reason whatsoever for the cantera to leave! 7 of our 11 players against Man Utd were youth products. Regarding Chygrynskiy: Muniesa and Fontas will get their chances even with Chygrynskiy because Puyol is backup for RB and Pique and Marquez backup for DM.

If Busquets and Alves are out for example, Marquez and Puyol will play at DM and RB and suddenly there are only Piquenbauer and Chygrynbauer as CD, so Muniesa and Fontas will then be on the bench.

Well, I see most of Barca fans are not sure about Chigra's transfer. Honestly speaking, I'd prefer Dima to stay here. Because there are no more defenders like him. I thing he's got the best age/current quality/perspective combination. The only one thing I can say for this transfer - Chigra, of course, subjectively, has more chances to grow the highest point in barcelona than here in Shakhtar. But if not to think from the postion of Dima's interests - I'd definitely prefer him to stay.
As to his best abilities - fantastic long passing, playing in the air, choosing of position
