Gudjohnsen does not want to leave

Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona attacker and Iceland international Eidur Gudjohnsen (30) does not want to leave Barcelona.

Barcelona would still want Gudjohnsen to go, especially after the convincing performances of Barcelona Atlètic players Thiago and Jonathan during the pre-season. But despite the fact that English Premier League club West Ham would be willing to pay his salary, Gudjohnsen reportedly wants to stay because of sporting and family reasons.

Even though i think its guddy's time to go, i like his commitment to the club.

Anony, you're an idiot. Guddy is a good player who couldn't fit in with Barca's style and speed but he was still a great proffessional. I personally want him to go to a club where he could start. But calling him a bastard is disrespect.

He was kidding, I would think the ":D" is a dead give-away of that fact. By the way, calling someone an idiot is disrespect.

I think his kid is in the barca academy no? maybe we can work out a deal that sends him to espanol? Or another club in spain that he would like.

I would guess that this has something to do with the riots during the West Ham game this week as well.

hehehheheh Criminally Bulgur, thats funny. I know wayne rooney wont be afraid of a riot, lol. He looks like he knows how to take care of himself. Bojan on the other hand. LOL. He'd need yaya to help out. :)

Keep him. Good backup for the midfield.

No need. We have better back-ups in Busquets, Thiago & JDS

Thanks but no thanks. As much as i respect gudjohnsen i think he's to slow. he is 30 yrs old and is over his peak. if not west ham then someother club in spain. maybe mallorca

Since when are Thiago & JDS better players than Gudjohnsen?

Since this pre-season where they showed a lot more of maturity, pace, composure, creativity than Gudjohnson with his loads of experience has managed to

I disagree. Potential is one thing, current ability is another. I wasn't particularly impressed by either of those two anyway.

Guddy never really fit in this type of game. After all he is not a midfielder. I say give JDS a chance against the weaker teams just to see how he(JDS) reacts. I would like to see Thiago as well but I don't believe Pep will give him a chance

i dont actually know what will happen if a player does not want to go but the club wants. can the club kick him out? loan him out? what can barca do? but of course, i guess they are trying to work out the best solution for both sides without being too mean.

im okay with this if jonathan and thiago are promoted. they are convincing, far more so than guddy. if they are not promoted, however, the squad becomes too thin

He has become that fart that llingers in the air, the Ex that will not give up and is bordering on stalking. Where you want a restraining order on him or her!

Guddy should stay since we don't have much attacking midfielders. I don't think he is that bad, he has a good technique and his longpasses are excellent. He is also deadly when shooting around the penalty area. abit more playing time would do. we should play him more in the Copa del rey. It would be a mistake to sell him now since we won't get much money and we don't have much attacking midfielder.
