does anyone share my opinion about ibra in this match that he was lazy and selfish ?
i shouldnt say this but its the truth ... :(

@midoh
he always is...thats why i hate him, thats why i didn't want him in Barca.
and that the retarded bias swedish press hail him for the tiniest little thing doesn't improve my opinion against him...

Messi man of the match, no doubt. He created the most chances, he assisted in the goal and he was the player who tried the most to score against shaktar, who played like chelsea (defend defend defend...)

Ibra was the worst player.. He must improve a lot..he was so BAD!!

Bekim Kryeziu said...

Messi & Alves -> the best again!

Messi was teh MOM for me. Constant and Earnest effort to get Barca the trophy.

Ibra was too lazy. Keita was very impressive for me.
Xavi was at his usual but not given the space.
Others were good. Defence was too good. Puyol and Pique were solid

I share your sentiment on Ibra. It looks like he is too obsessed with scoring his first goal that he has blinders on when he gets the ball. Hopefully that first goal will come soon so he won't be so selfish.

Kxevin said...

Between Messi and Puyol. Ibra should have made that pass to Henry, but you can't call him lazy for this match, in my opinion.

Unknown said...

Agreed on the defense. They played quite well.

Amar said...

ibra did well in the camp nou.
after this match i gotta say he needs more time and he needs to improve his positioning.

Puyol for this match. Then Messi.

Keita was good as well. And Pedro, a game changer.

Ibra was NOT so selfish today... After having seen Eto'o for so many years I don't know how you guys are claiming Ibra was selfish today.
My man of the match goes to Messi - 3 points, Pique - 2 points, cannot decide about the other player.
May be Pedro is the most luckiest ass in our squad. Remains silent through out the match(of course came on a substitute today) & finally comes out with a goal. Did the same against Bilbao & does it again :) Can't be sure if we can trust such performances but who knows may be he's gonna be our eternal super-sub!
And the worst player on pitch today for me was Thierry Henry. Except for that long range effort with which he forced the keeper for a save, there was nothing good from him. I even feel he's been a little slow today. Lost the possession so many times & put in very poor crosses. I still can't believe Ibra was substituted before Henry & I don't get why Busquee was brought on for Yaya instead of Keita. After that wonderful run by Yaya in the first half, I expected Busquee would be brought in immediately on for Keita and Yaya would be played alongside Xavi. Guardiola some times is not understandable for me :P

AND coming to the most satisfying point of the match today... Dmytro Chygrynskyy is gonna be awesome for us. His long range passes are really pin-pointed. Those tackles on Ibra & Messi were awesome :)

agreed, Pyuol and Messi were the best. Damn Pyuol was good, like in extra time, some dude got a great pass and ran past the entire defence but our Captain was there preventing him from taking a shoot or passing it inside.
But i gotta pick Messi, he tried the most, had many chances and assisted in the goal.

MiDO H. said...

i voted for messi btw
and i agree about the defence :)
and im so happy that pedro scored :D:D
looks like he's ready for barca after all ;)
PS : Busquets Rocks !

MiDO H. said...

BTW did anyone see gudjohnsen's face during celebrations ?
i mean he looked like he's ready to kill him self
i feel so bad for him :(

Anonymous said...

Chiggy was the best Barcelona player. :) He might not be the fastest in the world, but he is a very smart player who reads the game very well and those long passes to Messi and Henry will be awesome.

Unknown said...

Ibra was selfish on several occasions but I remember in maybe the 27th minute when he, Henry and Messi had the break. Henry was wide open on the left and Ibra had no intention of ever passing it.

I'm not worried though. Gotta give people time.

And someone above knocked on Pedro. He played for like 25 minutes. You act like he disappeared for the entire game...

Unknown said...

I'll give this to Puyol for his contribution in preventing what little dangerous counter-attacking move Shakhtar made that could turn the game around due to the inability of our forwards to score within the 1st 90 minutes. He and Pique needs to be alert the whole time as we monopolise possession and Shakhtar relying on counters and long balls.

Chygry has a big shoe to fill. Puyol has speed and an iron determination. He may not have height but he will challenge any loft balls. I just hope he'll be as good.

i don't agree that ibra was lazy in this game. u could see that he applied pressure on the defenders from time to time. my biggest problem was however his lack of understanding of/with his teammates. he did not know when to make runs, when to run towards the near/far post; and as we saw, he did not make good/timely decisions while having the ball at his feet either. let's hope he can adapt and get into the barca way soon. i'm sure pep & ibra wants it to work 100x more than we do.

Marc4barca said...

people tend to overlook defensive players.. without puyol's defensive ability in this game messi's brilliance upfront would be nothing and we would of lost. same way messi scores goals upfront but xavi was controlling midfield and awarded man of the match... well the same goes for puyol here apart from that messi was our livest player upfront thank god for him.

rObReV7 said...

Wow! I really was sooo disapointed with Ibra today! I called him a lot of names my mother wouldnt want to hear during the match! haha, god i hope he improves! He has to RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN!!! Pressure, drawing defenders, through balls, RUNNING is the key!

FCBarca said...

There can only be one...Messi-ah

Andréssibraviqué said...

I had wanted to vote for a defender since there were a LOT of counter-attacks from Shakhtar but I couldn't decide one among Pique and Puyol. No body here mentioned but Pique has been rock at the back except may be for one mistake, likes of which some times might prove too costly btw!

Didn't any body else feel Chygrynskyy is a very good defender!?!

Culer_Than_Thou said...

Whatever the reasons - new player, not fit blah-fucking-blah...

The undeniable and evident truth today was that Ibra was not a very effective striker and we cannot survive this packed season with just Henry (and Pedro).

Ibra needs to sort his thing ASAP and well, we have to hope the manpower deficiency at LWF and MF soesn't hurt us too much. Got to have luck with injuries this year too to quash Real.

Marc4barca said...

as for the zlatan topic...zlatan has always played SS since he went italy and it's going to take some time to play in a 4-3-3. the bright side so far for the 3 matches he have played is he is
1: he isn't getting bullied off the ball so easily
2: he is a getting a head on those crosses(i've seen more headers from him in pre season than barcelona last season..that may be exaggeration but you get my point)
3: he is doing more passing than he does in inter so the more he plays the more he improves
4: confidence to take on players.. some call this selfish but if you have the skills then why not do it..messi does it right it's just many of you believe it should work at all times..advice: don't expect too much and the disappointment would not hurt too much.

for all who wanted zlatan here you know what he is about so don't go getting angry for what he does on the field or the ones who don't like zlatan will have a reason to bash you.

Tyste Sven said...

Ibrahimovic looked like he was lost in space today... I have a feeling he will not succeed in Barca. The other players don't even pass the ball to him and vice verca. He is to slow, we need speed! Messi, Keita, Toure and Puyol were great.
Ibra, Alves and Henry have played better games...

Kxevin said...

Wow. Two matches and Ibra is already done in Barcelona. Awesome. Mes que un hysteria. :D

Chygrynskyy kicked ass and took names. Positioning was killer, tackling was manly without being brutal (can't say the same for his teammates) and the passing was Barca-class.

Looked like a 25m defender to me, I have to say. I'm excited.

Vic. said...

im sick of people bashing ibra! hes played what not even 3 whole games and ur already saying that hes a waste? we have a massive season ahead of us he will have oppurtunities. every one needs time to fit , esspecially after an injury. and how can u say hes selfish? every player is selfish in their own right, although etoo was one of my favourite players he was indeed selfish too, but he was at barcelona for 5 years the good parts of his game outshone the bad, give zlatan time and hell prove himself but he is no etoo, hes differnt, and in some ways hes more of a team player than etoo. by the time we play real, u will be eating your words about ibrahimovic.
btw i voted for puyi!:) and were the hell was abidal the whole game?!

Unknown said...

Tyste, you're correct in one aspect.

The reason Ibra seems lost in the match is because he didn't link up well with other players around him, more specifically he didn't get the service he required. But having said that I can see why he didn't get them as he is not assertive enough to want the ball. He didn't make any diagonal runs that midfielders like Xavi look for.

I'm sure Pep will work on that and the other players will try to understand his body language as to when he wants that ball.

Chygrinsky was under huge pressure tonight, the spotlight was on him big time, and he performed very well I have to say. I am happy to see him able to cope with such pressure. I like his style. On the surface, it looks like he's coming straight out of the dirty 1970s, but he has a stylish way of playing. :)

Andréssibraviqué said...

Abidal seems to have lost the plot after we got Maxwell :P
He's tried to go up front a lot while not sticking to the usual game-plan and whipped in some of the worst crosses. Also lost possession some times. But defensively he's been good, very good I have to say & in fact put some decent runs in attack as well. Only his crosses deceived him man :(
But having 2 very good players for single spot does really bring the best out of them & I cannot help but think that bringing in Maxwell had been a master-move by Txiki :)
Hope he does that with our LW as well, Henry has been AWFUL today

mario ch said...

defenders were good (especially abidal and puyol) zlaten ibrahimovic wasnt that good today but he will sure gives us joy :)
the first time i saw a completely game of dmytro chygrynskiy and i have to admit that he impressed me. he makes almost the right decision and looks really safe with the ball on his feets, just what barca needs.

Ibra's movement and ability to read his team mates will come with time as he settles in. Just needs time to fit into his new team that's all.

Anonymous said...

I don't understand anyone harping on Henry. This was his best match of the season so far and he was one of the best players on the field. Apart from Messi and Pedro, he was also the only one trying to shoot for goal. If Ibra would have passed a bit more often, he would have scored, I believe.

Which brings me to another point. I have no doubt that Ibra will work his way into the team. It's early and he still hasn't played a full game. Give him time to adjust. Henry wasn't set right away, Abidal wasn't set right away, that's just the way it is. That's why these games are good for us. They show us what needs to improve. Better now than in November against Madrid.

I believe Barca had a solid game... Please some of us should give the team and our players some credit instead of burrying them game after game. There are numerous things to note from this game...

1) Shachtar is not just any team, they are the UEFA cup winners and a worthy opponent.

2) Ukrainian league has started for quite some time now and Shachtar players are far better prepared physically than our players who have not played a single league game so far.

3)Moreover despite Shachtar being better shaped than us they chose to destroyee the game and simply take the match to a penalty shootout making it even more difficult creating chances

4) Ibra not only was his 3rd match but also missed all the preseason due to his injury. He is not even prepared to make it for 90 minutes yet, hence demanding from him to be sharp at the moment is just unthinkable.

5) AAAAAANNNNDDDDD PLEASE DO NOT FORGET -------- THE MAIN REASON THEY DID NOT CONCEDE A GOAL EARLIER AND THE MAIN REASON WHY ZLATAN WAS NOT SO GOOD TODAY WAS THAT A BARCA DEFENDER (DIMA) ENSURED TO MAKE LIFE DIFFICULT FOR US

6) And finally to all you barca fans critisizing our players, had we perfrormed well today and won 5-0 i am 100% sure you would still have something to complain by critisizing Dima because his team got humiliated..

Barca won Dima showed he is class
Good to have you with us Dima

PS 1. Can i vote for Dima as best player? LOL

PS 2. Srna is fantastic right if we a still looking to sign one.

With only 2 (45 min) game what can we expect from a Player who played in Italy for 5 Year after leaving Holland .
Ibra is not ready yet to give 100% from himself , sometime watching him today i thought Pep made a bad decision putting him as a starter , the guys is not ready yet and to play UEFA Super Cup as a starter with only 2 x 45 min played for Barca that's to much . We all know what he is capable to do , he is not the one from Sweden , Inter or Juve and Ajax , he need more time , i hope they can keep him cool with this bad games ...

As for the game , i like it even though they struggle all the time to brake through the Shakhtar Defense ...

5 Trophy so far for Pep and Barcelona , in 356 days of his presence in FC Barcelona .

Puyol was amazing tonight.
He was everywhere, he gave everything.

bosnian_likes_barca said...

The best thing for us, tha we gave to exelent young players for comming season, and they are Pedro and Thiago. Bojan is getting better, Chigy is great signing and Ibra and Maxwell will be good. Everything is promising good season. I'm changing my mind, we don't need anybody, maybe next season to buy Cesc and replace Henry.

So in reading the post match comments by the Shaktar coach he was complaining about the lack of a penalty call in overtime. He said he thought anyone would agree that was a penalty. Who agrees with this? I know I'm biased but I definitely don't think that was a clear cut penalty by any means. Dude went down pretty easily...

Andréssibraviqué said...

The "foul" btw was committed(if one can say so) outside the box, so that was no way a penalty. If they were to be awarded a penalty for that, then apart from awarding a penalty kick for us the player who fouled Ibra in D should be banned for life-time :P
Ours was a legitimate appeal and I still think Ibra was robbed off a penalty there... And look at the haters bashing him left & right now :( Wouldn't be the case if the ref had been good at his job.

I voted for messi...he had much energy, good shots and a brilliant pass for pedro's goal...ibra was so disappointing but let's not hang the guy just yet,Pep will make him work

King Carlos Puyol was solid, everytime they had a chance he was there and blocked, put off or headed the ball away.
My man of the match...

Long live the King!!

Ok., Ibrahimovic should have passed to Henry but that does NOT mean that Henry would have definitely scored . Let's face it: Henry is one of the worst finishers when it comes to one on one situations . He should have scored in 2006 CL final and again last CL final but he didn't . So give Ibrahimovic some time . Remember Henry sucked in his first year !!

as many said here, for me, there were no better than puyol and messi, but my vote goes to puyol, who did his job best IMO
