Henry offered to Arsenal and Chelsea

British tabloid The Daily Mail claims that English Premier League clubs Arsenal and Chelsea, have been offered the chance to sign Barcelona forward and French international Thierry Henry (30). Both clubs would have turned down the opportunity.

Arsenal are no longer in a position to pay the salary that Henry was earning before he left the club last summer. Chelsea, who bid 60 million euro° for Henry when Roman Abramovich arrived in English football, considered taking him back from Barcelona but have decided against it.

He must go now. Guardiola won't play a system that suits him. 20 million euro and you can have him, anyone?

Well we know for sure he won't be going to Chelsea if they appoint Rijkaard to the new post as manager. To say that Rijkaard and Henry didn't see "eye to eye" is the understatement of the year!...Henry's dilema is that he has to decide what's more important? Playing closer to his daughter? or playing further away from home (which would be "best" for his professional career.) A return to Arsenal would be like coming home with your tail between your legs. I don't "see" Henry being that humble or full of humility. And I don't envision Arsenal changing their game plan around once again to cater to Henry and play a "pass the ball to Henry and we all just step of the way" philosophy that disgruntled a lot of the players and alienated Henry from his teammates. One thing is clear. If he ever was to return he would have to shun his "prima dona" attitude because for all intensive purposes, (with or without Adebayor) this (Arsenal) is Cesc's team now! Personaly I think Henry would fair much better with a move either to Inter or AC Milan, or if he's willing to live with at least a year without Champions League futbol (just to stay closer to home with his daughter) take a leap of faith and join Man City or Tottenham who it seems will be big spenders this off season. Of course Henry takes the risk that by the time these teams realy start to make a move up in the league (if ever) it will be time for him to retire. So he's realy in a Catch-22 situation. I admire his desire to be closer to his daughter. But its not the best move for him professionaly speaking to return to England imo. Of course if it was me, I wouldn't think twice! I would move to England to be closer to my daughter career be dammed!

I guess the relationship between Rijkaard and henry is not that bad actually. It's just that you cannot play him in a 4-3-3. Up front Eto'o is just the better one (in a 4-3-3, in another system Henry could be best), so I don't think Henry blames Rijkaard.

I think Milan would b good for him. Or a team like Roma, he and Totti up front. But let's not forget he wasn't really excellent at Juventus, so don't know about him and the Calcio.

Good point! Completely forgot about Roma. Which with Totti's injury track record and Mancini probably on his way out, perhaps that might be a good fit for Henry. Not to mention the media spotlight won't be as great playing for Roma as it would be playing for either of the Milan clubs.

i agree with you djoef, he can't play the 4-3-3...as for him leaving, idk bout that one, he has scored goals when we needed them i.e. Champions League! he helped us win! I'd like him to stay and try to get used to La Liga because it ain't the same as the EPL
