Giovani wants to have more minutes

Asked about his future and the rumours linking with a summer move to Manchester City (read more here), Barcelona right wing attacker and Mexican international Giovani dos Santos (18) has said in an interview with Mexican sports paper Récord that he wants a change in his situation: "Until the 18th of May, I am a Barcelona player. That day the season ends and then my agent will find an agreement with the board."

Giovani wants to have more playing time because he is already looking forward to the World Cup in 2010: "Everything depends on the plans that Barcelona has with me. We are two years before the World Cup in South Africa and I want to perform there at my best. I'll keep that in mind when deciding about my future."

The paper claims that Giovani will ask Barcelona that they let him go play with another club next season, on loan or permanently. The appointment of Josep Guardiola, who doesn't think that Barcelona should hold on to Giovani at any price, would open the door for the Barcelona youth product.

Gio wants more playing time and I would like to look like Brad Pitt! To say Gio is a bit "full of himself" is an understatement! First he needs to "prove" he is worthy of more playing time on the pitch. Although I'll be the first to admit that if he played as well as he runs his mouth he'd be a shoe-in for starter every game!
