Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona is looking for a player who can replace Barcelona central defender and Mexican international Rafael Márquez (29). The club would nevertheless have set a deadline to the search: if no worthy substitute can be found and Márquez cannot be sold within three weeks, the Mexican defender can stay.
His injuries, irregular performances and continuous travelling to Madrid (read more here) have made the club decide that they will try to sell Márquez and to bring in another player who can fill up his role. Atlético Madrid is mentioned as a possible destination for the Mexican. If no replacement can be found, Márquez will be able to stay although he will probably lose a place in the hierarchy, both as central defender and as defensive midfielder.

It will be difficult to find someone who can play both positions (Poulsen?). I think he will stay.
Marquez is just fine to me. ??? and I don't know exactly where to even look to find someone who is capable of playiong both positions....I know Dani Alves could but he's gonna be our right back so ya im lost hahaha
With Milito out 6 months, Thuram leaving, yes they should bring 2 or three defenders, but letting go Marquez is a mistake. In every Barca loss, he was not there except for two games. They are going to be a bad team soon if they dont watch their moves.
