Barcelona didn't yet contact Bayern on Lahm

Despite the declarations of Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge last week that the German champions are ready to listen to offers coming in for Bayern full back defender Philipp Lahm (24) and that there had been a first contact with Barcelona, Bayern Munich general manager Uli Hoeness has said in an interview with German sports magazine Kicker that only Manchester United is interested: "At this moment it's only about Manchester United. But as things stand now, Lahm will stay."


Roman Grill, the agent of Lahm, meanwhile did not deny in an interview with Catalan sports paper Sport that there is already some kind of an agreement between Lahm, whose contract expires in 2009 and hasn't been renewed so far (read more here). The agent did confirm that the player wishes to make another step in his career. Lahm is being seen for months now as one of the main candidates to replace current Barcelona right back defender Gianluca Zambrotta as of next season.
